So... I get the during game spat but...

I was worried that Sam looked out of sorts almost the entire first half. He just didn't look confident. Getting to the very end of the season and with the playoffs approaching, I was concerned about our offense not looking well-oiled. I think that kick return for a TD and the ensuing turnovers ratcheted down that concern considerably for now. But our offense is still not quite where it needs to be for a deep playoff run. We need to get better on offense these coming weeks.

My biggest concern for this team remains can this offense pull a big game out of the fire for us?

Robinson is one of the best players in the league. He's gonna' get his, period.
Clearly not, as once we adjusted, he only got 64 more yards, no more big runs, and he was held out of the end zone. He got off to a great start. A full 26% of his output was on that first drive. Had he maintained the pace he was on, he would likely have nearly matched his 140 yard, 6.2 YPC output from last week's game against the Jets.

I was happy to see them make the necessary adjustments to minimize his impact on the rest of the game.

I understand that we watch the game with a different viewpoint. I'm watching like a coach, asking what we should change to increase our chances of winning this game, and what we might work on to increase our chances of winning future games. It's one of the things I really like the most about this current staff. They seem to see the changes that need to be made, and they don't wait to make them.

What? You too? You and @AROS crack me up. I often watch the game on replay, but I am careful not to know the score before I watch. I like feeling all the emotions--gloom, dejection, anger, frustration--during a game. Maybe I'm a masochist?

But game day chat? That's just like screaming at the TV.
Yeah. I think you are. 😂

God bless you, though, for willing to put yourself through that, especially that 1st half where I imagine you were ready to chuck your TV (or computer monitor) out the window at that point.

Agree to disagree. He's a phenomenal player. Then again, you and I rarely agree. And that's cool.

Go Hawks

Yeah, but screaming at the TV is healthy for you. It keeps you from taking it out on the wife and/or kids.

This might not be a good place for it, but I remember back in the late 70's when MNF was hugely popular, and one of the reasons for its popularity was that people loved to hate Howard Cosell. And Cosell was stupid football-wise. I remember him commenting on a pass play one time "That's the way to split that zone! Right down the middle!" Alex Karras: "That wasn't a zone, Howard." Frank Gifford: "Yeah, that's why the linebacker was covering him." Nothing but crickets from Howard.

Anyway, there was this bar in Denver that would go out and acquire some old TV set and put it in the center of the bar where everyone could see it. Then they'd raffle off a brick, and the winner of the raffle had one instruction: Wait until Howard said something stupid then they could throw the brick through the TV set.

Sorry for the diversion. Carry on.

Why I now refrain from gameday chat... one thread was like "Our Dline is non existent, they didnt show up...." With 7 QB hits and over 14 pressures... 120 yards on the ground with two players and one who is... honestly amazing and I wish we could trade for.

"What is wrong with our offense" literally 2 minutes into the second quarter... Yet here we are with a 37 to 9 win.. It's insufferable... Love you all, but the knee jerk during the game is literally nuts haha

Colts are almost looking like a gimme at this point.... Lets see is Sam can dial in like he did and pull the ball and run etc against the rams. I feel like we were able to finalize a method for the constant pressure especially that the Rams will hand us.

If you saw the in game stat... we have Four halves with 30 points for more... the rest of the NFL combined.. 6
To be fair the knee jerk reaction is a handful of people. Don't paint the board with a black eye for a few people who over react.

Love gameday forum. Sure the hot takes can be nuts but who isn’t a little nuts when watching your team. Personally I like it because I used to watch football around other fans so I could discuss (rant) to people who understood (even if the rub didn’t agree). Now I watch with my wife and kids around and they just don’t get it so it’s nice to vent a bit to other fans watching the same game even if they look dumb in retrospect.

I take zero responsibility for whatever I type during the game. That version of me needs a Snickers.

Surprised anyone was complaining about Robinson's production. That was only frustrating cause his immense talent was taking plays that should have been about 2 yards and he was turning them into 4-5 yard gains. Hawks D was doing the job. He's just really good.

This! I've been on this forum for a long time but just more recently started engaging in the GameDay chat.

I actually love it. I'm a Seattle fan living across the country and usually am celebrating, yelling, laughing or crying by myself. This gives me a chance to connect with a brother/sisterhood of fans - no matter how crazy the swings of emotion get in the heat of the moment. I found it actually has helped reduce the stress and frustration in the moment as I am venting or laughing at someone else's comment.

Long live the absolutely bonkers Game Day chat!

I find it ironic that this thread was created to complain about something that let’s people vent and complain.

It's not hard - if you don't want to read it, it's not like mandatory or anything :) I like some of the threads on gameday, my stupid shit included :)

I'm not a big fan of in-game negativity, but i'll take that over having a post game vent thread.

I let it loose in the Game-Day chat here and there. It's kind of like the pure id of the site, which I'm certainly not above getting down in the slop of. I'm capable of leaping from utter frustration and despair to blossoming hope and euphoria at a moment's notice. All, of course, perfectly rooted in sound reason and good judgment, just like the rest of my fellow Game-Day chatters.
