We all get pissed, then happy, then pissed again, then happy, etc. It's all part of the rollercoaster. This season has been a fricken blast. I think I'm enjoying it more than usual because I'm not letting myself get caught up in HOW they win. 10-3 is one hell of a record.

As a Lurker in game day chat I enjoy it. Some of the negativity and also some of the Homer positivity gets to be to much. It all balances out.

Yeah I don't hang out in GDC very much. Pop in from time to time to drop a post or two and then just go back to enjoying the game. After the game, I'll spend a little more time in there answering some posts or maybe even starting a thread to say something I consider important or interesting.

Mainly, though, hanging out in there distracts me from the game, so I don't much.

I use it as a barometer of how much someone’s ego has merged with an idea (the team) while also getting a read on emotional maturity. It’s quite revealing for a gal like me

I keep my eyes glued to the tv during plays but there is about 2 hours of down time during a football game which gives me loads of time to both bitch and celebrate 😂

Why I now refrain from gameday chat... one thread was like "Our Dline is non existent, they didnt show up...." With 7 QB hits and over 14 pressures... 120 yards on the ground with two players and one who is... honestly amazing and I wish we could trade for.

"What is wrong with our offense" literally 2 minutes into the second quarter... Yet here we are with a 37 to 9 win.. It's insufferable... Love you all, but the knee jerk during the game is literally nuts haha

Colts are almost looking like a gimme at this point.... Lets see is Sam can dial in like he did and pull the ball and run etc against the rams. I feel like we were able to finalize a method for the constant pressure especially that the Rams will hand us.

If you saw the in game stat... we have Four halves with 30 points for more... the rest of the NFL combined.. 6
Maybe you could re-evaluate what “GameDay” chat really is, and what it isn’t?

Fact is, it’s 100% about real time knee jerk reactions and emotions.

Think of it like watching the game at a sports bar with a couple dozen of your buddies, all rabid fans with differing levels of football knowledge.
(That’s how I look at it)

I never expect that sub forum to be full of level headed knowledgeable takes on what is happening.

GameDay chat is rapid fire, highs and lows.
Cheering, bitching, complaining and excited knee jerk reactions.

It’s not to be taken too seriously, it’s also not for everyone because it can be a bit negative when we aren’t winning or playing particularly well.

Imagine your own emotional roller coaster if you were watching a game alone, gameday chat is all of us riding the same coaster.
No right, no wrong.
Blurt out the raw emotion and move on to the next play/player.

I watch most games by myself, GameDay chat is the perfect outlet for my situation but I never take it seriously or personally.

I usually drop a take or two in the radish thread in game but normally after a big play be it good or bad. It is what it is for those of us that like to sort of geek out during big moments. I love my Hawks. But shit like this cracks me up. Niner fans dropped 3 posts yesterday on the Hawk thread at halftime yesterday then posted absolutely nothing afterwards IMG 0356

I just watch the game....after I know the final score (hopefully a win)....on replay (NFL+).

I never go to the Gameday chat except to see the overreactions but also there are threads on other games, too, which are nice reads.
What? You too? You and @AROS crack me up. I often watch the game on replay, but I am careful not to know the score before I watch. I like feeling all the emotions--gloom, dejection, anger, frustration--during a game. Maybe I'm a masochist?

But game day chat? That's just like screaming at the TV.

EXACTLY

not everyone does it, but most certainly do.

I couldn’t imagine watching a Seahawks game while sitting on my hands and my mouth closed.

And
When you’re the only fan around, GD chat is the perfect outlet

Yeppers. I tell my wife it's like sitting around with a bunch of buddies (who I've never met!) yelling at the TV and griping about all the stupid decisions the coaches are making.

And the refs. We HAVE to complain about every bad call. (Bad call = anything that costs the Seahawks yards)

Can you imagine if we'd had the game day forum back in the Krieg days? Or during the Flores/Behring years? :)

Ya know, Coach Mike reading our posts during half time is the reason he made adjustments to the game plan. We are directly responsible for the 2nd half whoopin' the Falcons got. Our advice and observations are an invaluable resource and the Hawks front office owe us big time !
For real though, I like the gdc because I dont get to watch the game live very often. It gives me play by play reactions to what's happening, good or bad. Theres just as many " player x is a god" posts as there are " player x is a doofus " ones. Just checking the score isn't the same. Most of my posts are stupid jokes or comments my wife and dog wouldn't appreciate , but some are legit and I like seeing , by others reactions, if I'm on point or flat out stupid. For me , it pairs up good to listening to the game on XM

on the first drive

I don't get it.
Robinson is almost their entire offense, and we don't seem to be keying in on him

Dang Coach Mike forget to tell them about Robinson.

Not sure what the point of calling out my post, with this straw man, is, but at the time I posted this, Robinson was averaging 5.5 YPC, and had just completed what would turn out to be his longest run of the game, on the opening drive. The Hawks were not focused on stopping him at the time, which was puzzling, whatever the reason.

Coming into the game, it was obvious that Robinson was going to be Atlanta’s #1 go to guy, so you would think the Hawks would have prepared to defend him.

Did MM & AD not game plan for this? Were the players not following the game plan? Who knows. Puzzling.

Once they adjusted to focusing on him, they did a nice job of neutralizing him. For the rest of the game, they held him to a reasonable 64 yards at 4.2 YPC.

I also posted the following when they were down 6-3, and Darnold had a 13.4 passer rating.

Even with the sluggish start, I'm not worried a bit about this being a "trap game."

We aren't losing to these guys. We will find a way to win. I just want to see us playing dominant football to end the season.

Shutout would have been nice.

Blowout would be nice.

Win is inevitable.

Not worried.

Robinson is one of the best players in the league. He's gonna' get his, period.
