Rams starting left tackle was hit with a felony charge of willfully inflicting corporal injury against his spouse, and arrested.

Given that the charge stems from him allegedly grabbing a phone out of a woman's hand, it is unlikely this will affect his availability for the season, unless there is some sort of mandatory minimum sentence.

I'm sure this goes unpunished because it's a misdemeanor but with Puka in rehab this isn't a good way to start the summer leading into training camp. We won't see them til later in the year but it will still impact them early

Im know I'm not following theme of shitposting on the player but how did this guy go undrafted going backwards in time he was 1st team All-American in 2020, 3rd team A-A, 2nd team A-A, All Freshman, and redshirted in 2016 all for the Oline factory, Iowa Hawkeyes.

Understandably to answer my own question, its because his athletic testing was rather horrible save for a solid 3-Cone and his arm length wasnt ideal for an OT (sub 33” arms but still an 83 inch WS overall). Two metrics that could have made him more desirable but didn’t.

Furthermore, phone abusing bro has not only become a full-time starter for the Rams the last 3 years, his listed weight varies from 338-345. His drafting cycle weight at his Pro Day was 321, how the eff did he test so poorly yet in the NFL has become a viable starter while carrying 17-24 more pounds and still playing OT. Crazy if you really think about it.

Frankly, and more importantly, it just gives me higher hopes that Richman and Stephens are gonna develop into some real quality players too for us because they are like Jackson mixing a strong resume for IOWA with less than ideal athletic and length metrics.

Metrics is just a measuring stick for athletic potential, it doesn't measure want to, Heart or Football IQ. Look up John Randle who was undrafted.

The Vikings picked up Randle after the draft on Head Scout Don Deisch's recommendation. If a cornerback runs 4.3 but can't tackle for shit like Woolen, then you're better off with a guy like Josh Jobe or Nehemiah Pritchett or rookie Julian Neal. None of those guys have the speed and length of Woolen but are all better football players regardless because of tackling and tenacity. Woolen was in Mac's doghouse all year lol
