Of course he holds on the to the ball too long at times. He's always looking to extend the play. I don't think many are saying he is w/out faults. But he's still one of the best in the league and on his way to being a HOF QB.
And when a team is up 17-20 points with barely 2 minutes left to go, THAT is a blowout. A garbage touchdown doesn't change that one bit. His results MORE than make up for a few sacks. So what, he does things that very few have ever done, especially w/what he has been working with over the years.

Why criticize a QB for doing something that every QB does? Coverage sacks happen. Especially when you are looking for the big play as much as Wilson does. You don't get those lovely deep throws without a few sacks. We don't want him to become Checkdown Charlie do we?

I see no call to nitpick the best QB we will likely see in a Seahawk uniform in my lifetime. Especially for doing things all QB's do because, guess what, the game isn't played against air. Those are 11 mean and nasty athletes out there trying to stop you. Sometimes they win.

So I totally get jumping on critical posters. Dude is a top 5 talent at QB and works his ass off to be number 1 and never says a bad thing about anyone. You have to be pretty screwed up in your own life to find fault with a guy like that.

Sunday showed that Wilson can make great throws quickly as well. Remember the tear that Wilson went on when we ran out of RBs ? (2016) He doesn't HAVE to hold longer the ball to be effective but our scheme asks it of him. So he does it.

One hopes this award wakes Carroll up to his mind-blowingly stupid approach to coaching in the playoffs. He has the 2nd coming of Steve Young and he wants to run the ball repeatedly like a moron in the playoffs. Meanwhile when Wilson DOES get a chance to actually run the offense with an urgency to score, we almost come back.

It isn't Wilson's fault that since 2015, if you want an easy path to the NFC conference game - you want the Seahwawks as your opponent in the divisional game. Whatever team lucky enough to draw the Seahawks as their opponent gets almost escorted to the NFC conference game. *

Wilson is one of the best QBs in the game now and, by the numbers, one of the best ever. He does this in spite of his coach, not because of him. (Though acknowledging Carroll is the reason he became a starter). He would have been better under almost any other coach though because his #s are almost cut by a third due to Carroll often squandering him until 3rd and 4th quarters.

That Wilson has put up these #s WITH Carroll as his coach is amazing.









*(The Hawks will bullheadedly run the ball for 2-3 quarters, letting you pile up multiple TD leads on them - all while having one of the best QBs in the game. Then, with no options and time running out because the Hawks drained their own clock down, they will finally let Wilson play. He will usually almost lead them back.

But by then usually they are in too deep a hole to recover and if you can score just once or twice more in that second half - the Seahawks will run out of time to come back. As again they spent all their time trying to run the clock down in the 1st half instead of scoring.)
