I think this is fundamentally true. And if they would, the price would likely be prohibitive and has probably gone up in light of Darnold's arc.

After Darnold crapped the bed with the NFC North on the line and then the divisional round of the playoffs, there's 0% chance McCarthy gets out of Minneapolis.

Definitely disagree. Is he going to be an All-Pro QB? Maybe. Maybe not. But is he good? Definitely.

Not sure why one might think he is "not good at all"

Jaxson Dart played in a Lane Kiffin offense -- I remember similar discussions around Matt Corral.

His deep ball accuracy has improved quite a bit (he was atrocious in prior years) but it's still not good. He's got a really slow release, seems like the ball is heavy to him.

He stat padded like crazy against inferior opponents and struggled against LSU, Georgia, Missippi State, Florida, South Carolina -- completion percentage in the 50s. He absolutely crumbled against Florida at the end which cost Ole Miss a chance to make the playoffs.

I just don't look at him as someone who has a lot of growth left to do.

They were never going to and there was no reason for the Seahawks to pay the price they'd need to do so.

Darnold's last two games locked that door but it was never a door that was open to begin with. It was a dumb Cowherd take amongst the many others.
