NEW YORK -- No details of Tom Brady's appeal of a four-game suspension were immediately available after a 10-hour hearing, but a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that "Tom Brady's greatest ally today was Tom Brady."

Sources also told Schefter that Brady came off as very genuine, earnest, and persuasive, addressing every issue raised in the league-sanctioned Wells report during Tuesday's lengthy meeting.

One of the sources called it "an A+ performance."

http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/i ... -testimony

I bet it was.

Amusingly, I found these:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...action-to-tom-brady-testimony-not-as-glowing/

http://deadspin.com/totally-agenda-less-sources-tom-brady-is-a-really-grea-1713650508

I know, It's Florio and Deadspin, so consider the source, but still.

Shady Brady's side leaked that he was Mr. Wonderful yesterday, the NFL's sources leaked today that they were not impressed at all. So take from that what you will. 8)

There have been quite a few people that have come out and said a lot of QBs have done this. The fumble rates are interesting, but at the end of the day, I put that on the refs.

To me this is no different than when a WR KNOWS he didn't catch the ball, acts like he did, and then the team runs to the LOS to get to keep the play. It's up to the refs to determine if the ball was caught or not, and IMO it was up to the refs to catch this deflating nonsense.

Every team tries to bend the rules to give themselves an advantage; I don't and have never seen this as that big of a deal. Teams do illegal things on every play, from holding to roughness penalties - and a lot of this is probably done consciously. It's up to the refs to catch these things. I don't think anybody would argue that the deflated balls helped the pats beat the colts. And with all the deflategate noise, the Pats obviously didn't deflate balls against the Hawks. And guess what? With those properly inflated footballs, the Pats didn't fumble against the Hawks. The Ravens have a legitimate beef, but again, IMO that's on the refs.

And this is all coming from a Rams fan - our potential dynasty ended the day the Patriots' began.

It is on the police to catch murders. So as long as the police don't catch the murders, murdering is okay.

See how stupid that sounds.

You guys have to understand. Brady took an oath. So whatever he said at that hearing was 100% truth..... Pats forums...

It is in their opinion that Brady taking an oath was a huge deal and further exonerates him... However I feel an Oath is bs but thats just my opinion. People will do whatever it takes to save themselves and that includes lying. How many criminals, murderers etc that go to trial admit guilt when testifying to save themselves? Should we also believe that they are all innocent? I mean they did take an oath.

C'mon that is completely different.

EVERYONE in the NFL tries to bend the rules. PEDs are worse than deflated footballs IMO, and so I'm fine with Brady's suspension. Everybody trumping it up to be something so much more seems like sour grapes to me.

Comparing football (a game) with murder is just....wow.

PED's are a personal choice and still don't guarantee much of anything. You can take all the supplements in the world and still play like ass, plus it's fairly difficult to hide from a urine test (depending on the frequency and stringency of the procedure.) Messing with game equipment -- which should be about the only certifiably static and constant thing in sports -- is a pretty big deal. But not as much as lying about it, and then going under oath to lie about lying about it.

If you don't want to believe it is anything that your thing. I personally do believe it gave the whole team an advantage and as far back as 2007,maybe earlier. The thing though is we don't have to get bent out of shape over it. After next year we will have some numbers to compare to that should definitively answer the questions.

As for PED's anyone without an agenda knows those were during the time that starting positions were up for grabs and the guys who were doing them were doing so in secret for the purpose of winning a position. Trying to make it out to be the team cheated is ridiculous. Not to mention all but one is gone and the one still here just watched his option year get turned down. It's also kind of important that nearly all positive tests were in the off season. Some of it could have just been partying for all we know.

Again, most of us don't have a problem with the Pats getting caught using deflated footballs. Did that equate to wins? Idk, maybe, probably at least a couple if it was going on over a long period of time.

The problem most of us have is how the Patriots from top to bottom are lying and insulting our intelligence with their nonsense excuses. You got caught, admit it, take your punishment like a trooper and stop doing it.

The AFCCG and SB weren't played in bad weather. If they didn't think it was going to give them an advantage, they wouldn't do it. They deflated them after they were checked. I don't think it's the refs job to worry about it after they are checked.

So if everyone takes a Oath and tells the truth then why do they have the term Perjury or perjured yourself?

I truly don't understand the logic behind the "Other people do it" excuse. Other people do lots of things that are illegal or against the rules. It doesn't excuse anything. Maybe I should just go steal my neighbor's car and if I get caught I could say "Well, thousands of cars are stolen every year and people don't get punished for it, so why should I?" (Um, because you got caught. Duh.)

Obviously 2 wrongs dont make a right....but 32 wrongs do now. he he he  :stirthepot:

31 wrongs. I'm assuming that the 49er kickers / punters are above reproach in that regard.

OOps...My bad. Sorry.

:sarcasm_on: If I recall correctly, I dont recall that I recall that I perjured myself at this point in the discussion. In my opinion, I dont recall doing anything wrong at that time. :sarcasm_off:  :stirthepot:

I suppose you can make anything the way you want to now a days. I was suckered into a situation this last weekend by deceptions. What a winner that was. UGH.

Why is it taking so long to release the findings of the appeal? Is there an ETA?

If I had to guess it would be tomorrow when news is normally announced this time of year.

According to this sporting news piece posted earlier today, Goodell states the decision could come as early as next week.....

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/tom ... ar-AAcLiYh

Tom Brady could learn as soon as next week how long he will be suspended for the start of the 2015 ... if he is suspended at all.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told CNBC on Thursday that a final ruling on Brady's Deflategate appeal is coming "very soon," possibly next week.
