Oh, I agree. It was arm char ARM CHAIR science. There could have been a million more tests to run, (multiple balls, more random throws of unknown PSI charted, hell, even running a lap or two around the yard before we started throwing, to say the very least,) but I wanted to go hands on in the most basic of ways to see if there really was something to the concept that "deflating the balls does nothing; it's a non-story", followed by a dismissive Frenchman's wave that a lot of naysayers are spouting while never touching a ball, let alone monkeying with the PSI.

For me, personally, I noticed an improvement in catching, (can't say yay/nay in regards to throwing as monkeys hurling poo have better mechanics than I do,) and was definitely able to get a better grip while tucking the ball in with the lower PSI, so I can at least rely on personal experience when I say there seems to be potential of better control with a lighter ball instead of just outright dismissing the notion because I don't want to believe or think it's a non-issue.

The fridge test was also somewhat telling as yes, the PSI rose back to near normal, but it rose back to damn near what it was when it was put in. I believe Steve said he tried it a few more times over the next few days and had almost identical results. That raises huge red flags in regards to the all over the map half time readings of the Pats balls, (even if one where to factor in the possibly of different gauges being used,). Leads me to believe that something like that is a lot more common in a case of "insert needle, count 3, pull" situation than having that many game balls not be in a more uniform range set to the QBs liking.

Combine that with the paper trail from Klump and Schlubb, the Pats throwing in the towel after vowing to fight to the last man, reports that the brass might not believe Brady, Pats league ranking in fumbles after the rule change, and Brady lauding those perfect balls, (while the list can go on and on,) there seems to be a heck of a lot of smoke coming from their camp.

10 pats fans just registered for the site so they can tell you how flawed your observations are.

Pats fans railing about conditions affecting the balls are daft. It was in the 50's for the game. A temp drop of less than 20 degrees on the balls.

I fully await their retort of "peckahead" followed by a bevvy of ethnic slurs. I've been through worse.

You'd think winning a SB, no matter how tainted, would be enough to just ignore all of us haters. The fact they continue to defend Tom Shady and his legion of Cheatriots at every turn just goes to show how insecure they really are about the whole thing. Even Billy and Kraft threw in their towels long ago.

I just like the fact that while it's normally front page news across all media outlets when a team gets their championship rings, I found out about the Pat's ceremony a day and a half after the fact, and that's just because I was specifically looking for some general championship ring info.
Bet no one out of the greater baked bean district noticed or cared. Seems rather telling as to how most of the country feels about their franchise.
Nice to see they went with a properly inflated 2004 design.

One of the balls used was given to a fan during the game, and as such loyal fans, of course they are going to try to profit from it (Settle down, I'm just teasing about the loyalty part). The minimum bid for this ball is $25k.....I would never pay it, but if I owned one I'd sell it for that in a heartbeat.

NEW YORK -- No details of Tom Brady's appeal of a four-game suspension were immediately available after a 10-hour hearing, but a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that "Tom Brady's greatest ally today was Tom Brady."

Sources also told Schefter that Brady came off as very genuine, earnest, and persuasive, addressing every issue raised in the league-sanctioned Wells report during Tuesday's lengthy meeting.

One of the sources called it "an A+ performance."

I bet it was.

Poor Tawmay! Does this mean no more Patriots trolls? If not I'm in a banning mood.

HoustonHawk taught me a trick tonight that I'm dying to test out. :)

Saw this on the main headlines on the Patriots forums and got a bit of a chuckle. Of course they are using the other teams do it to (Which does that make it right) I remember several occasions as a kid learning the lesson just because someone else does it doesnt mean you go and do it.

But now they are claiming punters/kickers etc were deflating balls... Lets just think about that for a minute

Funny how the stories of others deflating balls comes out nameless, while in the same story they say that the NFL needs to make sure the rules are held up fairly across the board. Well, I got news for you....if you know of cheaters out there and you want the rules to be fair to everyone, name some names. Let them take the same suspension that Brady is getting. This has that scent of looking for reasons to reduce Brady's suspension, it doesn't ring true about wanting the rules to be fair across the board.

What amazes me is this is the word of the gospel over there now. Punters and kickers deflating balls. But Brady is innocent. I wanted names as well which weren't provided. However if they believe said punters and kickers are guilty with out any evidence then why is Brady not guilty with a mountain of it?

This is going to be a hot topic at the end of this season WHEN the pats plays/fumble stats crash back to Earth.

...And will completely ignored and never mentioned again when they don't. ;)

I truly don't understand the logic behind the "Other people do it" excuse. Other people do lots of things that are illegal or against the rules. It doesn't excuse anything. Maybe I should just go steal my neighbor's car and if I get caught I could say "Well, thousands of cars are stolen every year and people don't get punished for it, so why should I?" (Um, because you got caught. Duh.)

Oh, I'm sure it'll come up. Even if it's not a SEA fan that raises the topic :)

If the numbers don't change Patriot fans will bring it up. If they do change and I think they will, it will get brought up and probably discussed a lot.

31 wrongs. I'm assuming that the 49er kickers / punters are above reproach in that regard.
