According to John Clayton the NFL likes to do news releases towrds the end of the week to keep the NFL in conversations over the weekend. Last week was the was the PED suspensions and the week before the Hardy appeal results and the Brady results were expected to be this week but the NFLPA put out a timely release stating that if any suspended games remain they would be taking the NFL to court. With that new info they decided told hold off on the release and review it to make sure they have basically covered all their bases.

This to me makes sense and sounds legit. The thing though if it is correct then we know Brady wasn't going to get off scott free otherwise they would have released the info anyway.

So they are doing a discount dubblechek????

Let the Shady Brady camp and the players association take the NFL to court and let the Shady one perjure himself under oath. Unfortunately with Rog being so close to Kraft and not having balls in general I dont see the 4 games standing it will be 1 at the most IMHO.

That's IF and a big if, Brady even takes the stand. I think that is the loophole the NFLPA is going after. Knowing that putting Brady on the stand would also subject his cell phone as evidence and Brady also Perguring (SP) himself, I think the goal is to get the findings thrown out completely.

Generally courts don't involve themselves in the affairs between private organizations and their members unless a law has been broken. Court may well refuse to hear the case. Of course they'd rather he not be suspended at all but I think Brady and the Pats** real agenda is to delay the suspension if they can for a week or two since the they play us (Steelers) in the opener. Their second game is Buffalo and the third game is Jacksonville, who both suck, so they won't miss him as much.

You know who else is pissed off? 31 other teams and fan bases that got to watch him get another ring in a game he shouldn't even have been playing in.

I know seeing this at the top may get a few of you excited. However nothing new to report. I did see however the Patriots report to camp Wednesday and start practicing on Thursday. So supposedly we should no more in the next 24-48 hours I would assume... :snack:

Yeah like Goodell postponing the decision till next season as not to distract from the 2015 season or some lame excuse or say that evidence and interviews still need to be done but the availability of the participants won't be till the next off season.

So 2016 Brady Retires and misses no games and has no suspensions.

I am starting to lean towards the scenario that Goodell will uphold the suspension - so he appears to be tough on cheating. Brady will immediately file a lawsuit and obtain an injunction against imposing the penalty until the trial is complete. The case will be delayed until after the 2015 season "to avoid the distraction". Following the season, Brady will "reflect upon his career", decide to retire and withdraw the lawsuit. All sides effectively get what they want - excepting the broader NFL fanbase.

Report: Tom Brady destroyed phone, suspension to be upheld

The NFL is going to reject Tom Brady’s appeal and uphold the four-game suspension he is facing for his alleged role in Deflategate, according to one report.

Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday morning that a source told him Roger Goodell will not reduce or overturn Brady’s suspension. Perhaps more shocking, Smith cited a separate source who told him Brady actually destroyed his own personal cell phone rather than just refusing to turn it over.

If it comes out that he did destroy his phone, it will be hilarious to watch the Patriots fans attempt to spin that into a story of innocence for their anointed one

Why would he destroy his cell phone? Does the NFL serve warrants now?

I can only hope this was true but Im sure Pats fans wont see anything wrong with it.

The fans will just say it was a coincidence, that he happened to buy a new phone and destroy the old one around the time of the investigation. In fact that's why he couldn't turn his phone over! He wasn't being uncooperative!

All I can say is that there must have been some damning information on there. Deflation-related and who knows what else.

The NFL can request it for evidence if it when to court, and he'd have to provide it. Now if it happens the judge can ask him why did he destroy the evidence. Stupid is, as stupid does.

.... And believe me the Pats fans already have excuses for this...

Yes I decided to take a gander over on there boards. They of course think this is all part of a smear campaign and the next step in it. That it doesnt even matter if he destroyed his phone because they had text messages from other peoples phones. That he could have put it in the washer or just needed an upgrade.

This basically proves his innocence even more because it shows how far the league will go to lie and to smear his name.

Some of them think it is all slight of hand to get Bill out of the league. Some are talking about all the hiking and traveling Brady does and that he may have broke his phone cliff diving because he like us is human and makes mistakes and that there is a reason why all those iPhone repair shops are around is because they are so fragile. Thats its not true but even if it was it was just an accident.

I mean wow. The denial is sickening. I honestly can't wait for football to start because their fans belief is so irritating. If they had live video proof they would still say it was doctored or misinterpreted.

From what Greeny said on Mike and Mike this morning, all his sources say that Goodell isn't backing down from the four game suspension.

Which makes sense, if Brady keeps saying he's going to take the NFL to court over this, then why would Goodell offer him a reduced suspension?

Plus it sounds like Goodell is getting some tremendous pressure from the other owners who are sick and tired of the Patriots shenanigans not to reduce the suspension.

The destruction of the phone could be considered spoliation of evidence and adverse inferences of wrongdoing can be inferred. If the destruction of the phone is correct I doubt that Brady's suspension would be reduced. Moreover, I wonder if this is the reason why Kraft threw in the towel.
