It's a child's game. First and foremost. The hookers and coke headline I could've done without. The finger was just lame. Propping the Cowboys was blasphemy. He got paid. Earle destroyed his own legacy with the Ravens. I don't want him as a rep for the Hawks. Truth be known he likely was jacked up on riddlin and other drugs. And what does that mean for the legacy of the legion of boom? I don't even want to know more.

I'm kinda with CalgaryFan05 on this one.
The flippin' the bird didn't bother me too much because I can understand how players can get upset with contract disputes and all that, BUT...the COME GET ME crap irked me big time. Never seen anything like that with a Seahawk player doing it so openly. That made me utterly despise him.
After he left for the Ravens, I just had the attitude of Adios a$$hole.
As they say, Time heals all wounds, and to my view of him now, I'm just indifferent. Will always love what he did here but I moved on .

Love what he did as a Seahawk, and no hard feelings whatsoever. Who amongst us hasn't been upset by something and reacted in a way that we shouldn't have? Especially at what was still a relatively young age. I'm far from perfect and not in any position to judge.

I hope he's doing well/better, as he was in a bad place for a while.

I've long been over any negative feelings towards Hutch, Earl, Russ etc and appreciate those guys not for how it ended but for the balance what they did while they were Hawks.

Heck, I'm finding myself having good feelings about guys like Aaron Donald, Frank Gore and Jim Harbaugh the further they are removed from being some of the Hawks fiercest competitors. Just an overall respect and bygones be bygones.

No hard feelings for me personally, but that birdie cost him some fans permanently and he's just going to have to live with that.

Zero hard feelings. He changed the game with how he played the position and is better than most people realize. It's weird him, Sherman, Wilson etc all I think are underrated because people don't like them as people when really all 3 were all time greats for a long period of time.

Was one of my all time favorites. Was pretty pissed at him the way it ended, esp. the middle finger to Pete. Then I was more worried about his mental state. Now I just feel bad for the guy. Hope he keeps getting the help he needs. An all-time great Hawk, imo.
This is the same guy who was cut from the Ravens, much due to the players not wanting him in the locker room. He punched a teammate in practice too.

"This goes back to the beginning of his tenure with the Ravens because it was bad last year, too," said NFL insider Michael Silver. "He was late. He missed meetings. They warned him after he got fined repeatedly, 'Look, at this point this is going to be conduct detrimental which would affect your contract.' . . . A couple of days before the altercation with Chuck Clark, he had complained that he needed more time between practice and meetings, and then explained he was late to meetings because he had to get his car washed that day."

Earl was like an atom. I’ve never seen so much energy in such a small package. He could cover ground better than anyone and was absolutely fearless. He allowed our CB’s to take risks and reap huge rewards because they knew ET would back them up with reckless abandon.

He played to a level that is conducive to catastrophic injury. I fully understand how he felt like he should have been guaranteed sooner. It’s an emotional game, things are said and done in the moment. It’s all good.

Flipping off Pete was unacceptable. I'm not buying the heat of the moment thing. Pete ALWAYS had his players backs. Always.
He shouldn't get a pass because he was LOB.

No good option on there. I dislike the person he became. All is not forgiven for what he did, he can eat shit for that. I still appreciate what he brought to the team while he was here (ignoring the last year) and he is still one of my favorite players on the field.

Legend on the field. Acted like a scum bag off the field. At least towards the end of his career.

Lol, it's a game dude. He played his ass off while he was here and felt like the higher ups did him wrong at the time. He was also born in Texas, calling it blasphemy is just petty and shortsighted, which ironically is to be expected from Cowboys fans

Was going to say something similar. I'm definitely not bitter (that's pretty dramatic) I would say I'm not a fan and don't really care for the guy. The finger followed by his actions on the Ravens and the stuff he did once he was forced out league show who he is as a person. Like him more than Sherman and Russ though I'll say that.

He's a flawed human being, just like everyone else, who played his ass off while he was here. As long as he didn't murder, rape, or rob people I don't really care about some bad decisions he may have made. NFL is a business, the fans lose sight of that when they emotional attach themselves to a corporate entity that provides them entertainment, the players typically are just trying to be the best they can with whatever team they happen to be on.

With that said, Sherman and his cocky attitude annoy the hell out of me
