Interesting...
Caleb WilliamsWhat's the buyout for Pete as our consultant?
My thoughts exactly.I can't see handing your 2nd year QB to a guy in his mid 70's because you want a guy to work with him for the long haul and build a marriage there. Just doesn't make sense. But I also think Pete isn't a defensive guru anymore but he is a QB guru in a weird way. He creates an environment where young quarterbacks feel comfortable to be themselves and play with confidence. SO he's the perfect fit and the worst possible fit at the same time. I think the only way to do it is to have Pete be the head coach for a couple of years and have an OC who is guaranteed to take the job when Pete retires that can create that marriage with Williams. That would be an ideal situation for the Bears.
Ben Johnson is the target. Bears should do whatever it takes. As opposed to the coaches they've had recently? Pete runs circles around the crap sandwich Chicago has had.
No necessary, we do know that Ben is very good as an OC, and as someone who can handle QB development. To be a HC, he have other, a lot of other ,responsibilities. Some OC can develop into good HC, ie Bill Walsh, Andy Reid. but more couldn't.Ben Johnson is the target. Bears should do whatever it takes.
True, but Bears offense is going to be vastly improved, AND we are taking away the Lion’s great OC. I have no doubt he will get the offer. No necessary, we do know that Ben is very good as an OC, and as someone who can handle QB development.
