A couple of ex-Seahawks signing elsewhere. Martinez was a little curious to me as he didn't look terrible in pre-season after the Seahawks drafted him, but was clearly behind Holani and Jacardia Wright. Well, both those guys are hurt but Martinez never got a sniff back here and hasn't been on anyone's PS since being cut loose by Seattle in September. There's always part of the story we'll never know. John Schneider doen't draft guys unless he sees them as legit players but something was clearly off on this guy.
Never showed his aggression while here, seemed to be going thru the motions. That showed up against the other guys.

Must admit I am nervous about this upcoming game as the Hawks have not had a strong record against the 9ers recently. Not happy about Cross and Jones health at this critical time. Jones has played quite well and him not starting would be a genuine problem for the O. Getting the bye would be a very good thing.

I have my fingers crossed as well for the return of Shaheed, who makes a huge contribution to the strength of the ST., and is player who takes coverages away from JSN and needs to be accounted for deep.

Other than coverage for TEs I have no concern about the D but do hope they can get to Purdy.

Key will be rattle Purdy early, get him in happy feet mode and he falls apart as the game goes. Let him get established and he is much harder to get rattled.

Martinez was drafted b/c he was reputed to be a hard runner as that was his performance in College. He never showed any real ability to run hard here and was really slow as well.

I was disappointed that Jarcadia Wright was hurt as he showed real ability and ran hard every play, which likely caused him to get hurt. Hope we see him again next season. Meanwhile the team is going to have activate a RB for the 9ers game and if it's Akers he will be out of call ups.

Speaking of Akers and call ups. I know we get two extra activations from IR during the playoffs but is there a playoff affect for PS call ups?

Ok so i geeked up a bit and dug into the CBA and unless there’s an addendum I don’t see then the two time maximum does include the post season. That’s a shame. Would be nice to have a bit more freedom during the playoffs.

The team still has one further IR call up for the regular season and thereafter 2 more for the post season. am hopeful to see the return of Horton or Arroyo for the postseason.

It's possible to see the return of another RB as well.

I was thinking of PS call ups (gameday activations) but I found that answer in the CBA.

S- D’Anthony Bell is claimed off waivers by the Panthers. There is a thread on this situation. The Seahawks seem to be a good starting place for young DBs for the rest of the league.

Thankfully the team has some depth which will need to now show up or return to playing health.

The ream has now lost three DBs to waiver claims this season. Coby Bryant may hopefully return this Saturday. The team as well has Quandre Diggs on the PS.

Kights signing had me scratching my head but the injury report today has both Cross and Jones not practicing.

Team currently has 11 offensive linemen on the active roster.

Although both Knight and Logan are both developmental linemen, I think the choice of elevating a tackle with a reputation for coach-ability over the more athletic and physical choice ...... interesting.

I would have kept Bell over Diggs if I were JS. Bell contributes on special teams, Diggs doesn't. Bell gives 100%....well, we all know what Diggs does.

Bell was waived from the active roster. Diggs remains on the practice squad. Make that the ready squad.

For sure indicates the team is somewhat concerned about the health of the OTs and they wanted to ensure they had enough depth at OT.

Unfortunately he could be exposed to predation if he needs to be waived after the game tomorrow.

Oddly I haven’t seen anything about any elevations for tonight’s game. I don’t remember a week with zero elevations from the PS.

I hear you my friend. Lately the disclosure of the roster moves has been very much slower than we have been used to seeing. I suspect there are quite a few factors involved, but get the impression the team is holding their cards close so the other team has less time to sort out the matchups.

I expect to see Akers and Diggs elevated.
