Thanks kidhawk, as ever much appreciated!!

To me this is interesting and it doesn't deal with Lemieux so we can expect more roster churn over the next few days.

Updating.

Thank you my friend much appreciated!!!

It is worth observing the team has now made more than 200 roster moves since the beginning of this campaign. JS has a way of manipulating the roster that seems to allow the team to keep a bigger group of players around.

Roster Geek Rant:

The Seahawks PR machine keeps saying that Cody White is not subject to waivers because he is considered a 'vested veteran'. A vested veteran is a player who is on a 53 man roster for 6 ore more games in at least 4 seasons. White has been on and off rosters since 2021 but only two of those years has he been active/inactive for more than 6 games.

So, he IS in fact subject to waivers.

Look at the USA today transaction wire (currently the best one i can find on the web) https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/nfl/transactions?teamId=361

Notice that Shaq Griffin (clearly a VV) was cut on Wednesday and signed to the PS also on Wednesday. White has been cut twice in the last few weeks and both times he was officially added back to the PS the NEXT DAY which means he had to clear waivers first. At some point White is going to get claimed off waivers and the SPRM is going to have to admit the Hawkstorian knows roster rules better than they do. I expect a public acknowledgement.

End Roster Geek Rant.

(PS, In no way am I suggested Mr. Schneider and his team don't understand all this, but never assume the media folks understand roster minutia like we do.)

You do know that you’ve now ruined the big lie. Now you’ve made it public and other teams are going to know they can claim him. We just lost any shot at the Super Bowl. 🙄

By rule each of RB- Jarcadia Wright and S- D’Anthony Bell revert to the PS.

I love we have proven depth now, I hate that we had to return them to the PS and could lose them to league poaching.

Just because another team claims the player from the PS doesn't mean that player needs to sign with the calling team. Effectively they are free agents and able to play where they want.

Actually I believe a team can claim a player but must keep them on the active roster for a certain number of weeks.

True that, it's 3 weeks on the active roster, that player so claimed from a PS is still a FA and can choose not to go to the claiming team. Financially it doesn't make sense though unless there is some other reason not to go.

Ok so I did a bit of reading and I found out that teams can protect up to 4 practice squad players. I don’t think I knew this before. I wish that list was public (or knew how to access it). Would be interesting to see who we protect.

Interesting. I wonder if it has something to do with the veterans on the PS who get a higher weekly pay. It would suck to be a rookie and not get a chance to move to another 53 man roster.

I didn't know about the protection of 4 PS members. Is there any rule about how experienced the player needs to be to be protected?

This article has a little more detail.

“Every Tuesday, teams can designate four players as protected, so they can't be placed on another team's active roster from that day until kickoff.“

Sounds like there’s a small window where they are all available then teams can protect 4. In this context it makes sense as you’d have depth you may need due to injury concerns

With the open PS slot I can see quite a few more roster moves over the next few days as being possible.after this Thursday the eligible NFI and IRr candidates could begin to be factored into the roster possibilities.

For sure the churn will continue.
