I'm sure its posted here but I wanted Baker in Seattle. He had one good year in Cleveland and showed some flashes with the Rams for me. But I just like the way he plays so was probably a little biased.
So who's the next Darnold/Mayfield in the league looking that optimal fit that the Seahawks could target? Trevor Lawrence? Justin Fields?

This doesn't seem consistent with what happened in Carolina or LA. Again there were a lot of questions about Baker prior to the 2023 season. Clearly he needed the right organizational fit and I'm glad he got it. It's not fun to think about that missed opportunity and what his production might have meant here vs. Geno, but there's no guarantee it would have worked under PC/JS.
What isn't consistent? He got shipped to Carolina after Cleveland said they needed an "adult" at QB, so naturally, they traded significant capital for the right to pay a serial sexual predator $230m guaranteed. Was later cut by Carolina, signed with the Rams and started a few games. I thought he looked awful in both those stops, although he showed enough for Tampa to give him decent money to compete with Kyle Trask for their starting job. He took off with it, and is now one of the better QBs in the league.

Would be interesting to know if they have interest in Fields. Not saying I want or don't want him here. Just an interesting thought.

million dollar question and I don't have an answer. I'm open to Lawrence but understand why most aren't. I went and looked at his stats and he hasn't been as bad as I would've thought?

He didn't improve in Carolina or LA. Whatever improvement he saw over 2018 - 2020 appeared to stop in 2021. His QBR/RTG went up each of his first 3 seasons (PFF grades were good for all 3 years). Then in 2021 they all went down and they didn't get better in Carolina/LA in 2022.

Kyle Trask vs. Baker Mayfield = no contest.

I would kick the tires on Lawrence. His stats are good he just hasn't had much of team around him. I doubt they part with him anytime soon as he just signed a new contract in June.

How was it a game winning drive? They lost.
I did say it was a game-winning drive IF, IF, IF the Hawks defense stops the Vikes. They didn't.

Asking Geno to go 90 yards in 55 seconds is a recipe for a forced throw pick. Exactly what happened. Can't really hold that against Geno. Geno was under heavy pressure and had to unleash the throw before DK's break.

Respectfully, I can hold a lot against Geno. He is a big reason they have given a lot of games away. Not THE reason, but a huge reason.
Some days the QB needs to carry the team and some days the team needs to make up the difference for the QB. Neither happened against the Vikes.

I don't see a better alternative to Geno for 2025, absent a masterstroke by JS. A couple improvements in the surrounding environment, either Grubb improves or Grubb is replaced, and some O-Line improvement, either personnel or coaching, along with continued improvement by the defense, and the Hawks could go 12-5 next year with Geno.

I believe that attempting to replace Geno with an "upgrade" could cost way too much and yield very disappointing results. The Hawks gave away 3 games this year, NYG, LARams, and now the Vikings. The Rams loss was 99% on Geno. The other two, maybe 50% on Geno. I don't think Darnold in Seattle performs better than Geno. Geno under Matt LeFleur or Kevin O'Connell probably looks and performs amazingly.

geNO is 5-22 against teams over .500
The Seahawks are 5-22 against teams over .500 since Geno's started. He inherited a bad Oline, 2 bad coordinators, and a HC past his prime who didn't have the heart to make some tough decisions in his final years.

We need to draft better interior O lineman. Bradford is a joke. Haynes is a joke. Olu is ass. Laumea on the other hand was a hit. Need another guard better than Tomlinson and center which they might have to go the free agent route again and hopefully mentally stable and won’t retire mid season. Go Hawks!!
Highlight of the season was the “tea-bag” incident when Geno squatted and dropped his sac on Campbell’s grill in a walkoff foot race dub to the endzone. I mean hopefully we get a gift from AZ and make the playoffs but if not we will always have the “tea-bag incident”200

I've heard from a few people that it's Hendon Hooker.

Funny, after the final pick I was completely done with DK, since it was 100% on him for taking yet another play off
