You're probably right. He is an older, more QB (26), got a lot of experience in college, has good size, good arm, decent athleticism, has been under the tutelage of offensive guru Ben Johnson for two years now, and I heard from a that he is doing well in practice, and that if Ben Johnson gets a coaching gig that he may try to bring him along.

I really don't know, though.

Smith beats himself every time. He doesn’t have the decision making ability in the pocket to be a starting quarterback. He’s ridden pine practically his entire career. He gets in the red zone and just goes rogue. We need a better pocket presence and a QB with poise instead of impatience. Might be why another teammate slapped him in the face back in the day idk

What QB is a better option right now or next season? Looks like the only option involves keeping Geno while we sign and develop a young QB and shore up the oline
