So, just brainstorming here. What if...

1) Geno gets released.

2) The NY Jets somehow pass on a rookie QB or don't want their guy to start year 1. They become the only team willing to sign Geno as bridge QB.

3) Geno starts and both he and the Jets are God awful.

4) Geno gets punched in the mouth by a NY Jet. Again.

Geno's Raiders (2-9) lose to the (3-8) Browns 24-10 in Shedeur Sanders first NFL start. 10 points isn't going to win many games, though the Browns do have a good defense, sacking Geno ten times. Geno stats:

30/44 285yds 1 TD 0 INT's 10 Sacks/-77 yards RTG 93.5

Decent stats except for the lack of points. Raiders in a nose dive.

Geno's days as a starting NFL QB are winding down.
Only if Carroll gets fired. As long as Carroll is around, Geno will always have a starting job. I'm not sure how poorly he has to do for Carroll to bench him. Pickett can't be any worse than Geno.

Yep, posted this in the thread about Chip Kelly getting canned. How we got a half a great season out of head case Geno is a miracle.
With Geno it was always his lacking of leadership qualities more than anything else that stuck out to me. I've said it before, but he was overly self-absorbed, kind of thin-skinned in that way, and that didn't make for him to be an inspiring leader at a position that really requires that. He always had talent.

He was very fortunate he got the opportunity he did in Seattle, and made the kind of money he has. He should be humbly counting his blessings in that way. He's financially better off than most all people alive now.

I almost feel sorry for Raider fans. Their team's slogan is "Commitment to Excellence," but Geno's finger salute lacked form and confidence and was actually somewhat wimpy. Lots to work on, there.

Geno got paid though!

Geno is done in the NFL!

I’d retire right now if I’m done collecting money guaranteed if I was Geno.

But, he’ll probably be back up elsewhere.

Not being in Oakland has changed a lot for this team, team has more money coming in a shiny new stadium and not the septic tank they played in, but I don't see the passion of old at games watching on TV.

Is this rock bottom? His own fan base this time

This right here is why many people didn't like him here. His constant pouting, blaming teammates on the field and this kind of stuff. The dude isn't a bad guy by any means he's just immature and does stuff like this all the time. So glad I don't have to argue with people about him anymore lol.

Never heard him once blame a teammate while he was here, and he had plenty of opportunity to do so. We just making crap up now?
No, we not. I'm not going to get into the direct blame game, but he was most decidedly NOT a good leader at the most important position to be so in major team sports. That much should be clear to anyone who knows the sport, watched the games, and saw how he reacted during contests and spoke after games. The guy was just not an inspiring leader to his fellow offensive teammates, the team, or the fans.

There's a reason why he never made it in the league as a starter in spite of his talent until he was given a shot by PC when no one else would. Even then, his play and leadership greatly divided the fanbase, even when we had a winning record. He was gifted a sizable contract by the Raiders that in short order had the great majority of the fanbase and within the organization thinking they made a mistake.

He's a thin-skinned, self-absorbed talent who seemingly has no idea how to act given the position he's in and the responsibilities of it. He should thank his lucky stars that he's worth more than almost everyone on the planet and quit acting like some poor whiny entitled little victim that the world is trying to unfairly bring down.

Still have yet to tell me when he threw a teammate under the bus. As far as the rest of the crap you spewed, that's your opinion. I didnt witness any of that stuff you're claiming while he was here, not once. But I'm sure you have receipts. You hate Geno, we get it. But let's stop making false BS up about his time here.

Whateva. And I don't "hate" Geno. Not at all. Just reporting what I see, his actions, and the results of his career. He's not an inspiring leader at the position. He doesn't act the part. MM and JS couldn't wait to move on from him given any decent alternative to him. When he decided to leave, we signed Sam in about a nanosecond after, which goes to show how eagerly they were looking for an alternative to him when the situation for it arose.
