I was one of the very few in here that advocated for us to take Milroe well before the draft, even said I'd take him late in the 3rd. No, not a shameless self pat on the back, bear with me a bit.
I was also one of the biggest OL bell ringers in here and you don't hear me saying we should have used pick #92 on OLine now do you?
This is only the 3rd QB JS has taken for us and another window such as this may not come around again for a while.
What a great situation for JM to learn from Sam & Drew while Kubiak & Janocko fine tune him. I think our QB room is at a very good place right now, I think our depth with all of our O-weapons is pretty flush with talent because of this draft. No guarantees, but there's a lot to feel good about.
There will be a better QB pool in the upcoming Arch Manning sweepstakes, keep your eye on LaNorris Sellers, So. Carolina. Another dual threat QB who is an inch taller, 15lbs heavier and whose stats are similar to JM, though not as athletic or fast. At this time many have Sellers at a very early ranking of the #4 QB for 26'. It depends on his 25' season, but my point is watch Sellers go in the 1st round and his short/medium accuracy also needs work.
We got a steal with Milroe in the late 3rd and I still can't believe we drafted Zabel, Emmanwori and Arroyo before him... jackpot.
Dual threat, check.
Elite speed & athleticism, check.
Big arm, check.
There is a lot to like about the above but I think Jalen will succeed because he is smart, grounded, humble, mature, a leader, hard working and loves football.
I've heard some say this could be the best Seahawk draft ever. Surely time will tell, but I don't hear too many people jumping in to dispute that statement.
The rookies, undrafted & invites, work them hard and reduce it all down and I think you've got some talent.
It feels like we are a solid RG away from kicking some ass and making some noise in the playoffs. It feels like RW3 & Geno are no longer in our rear view mirror and the sky is the limit.
This was a hard & fast turn-around by JS & MM, this was a masterclass retooling by John.
