But will it make his decision making all the sudden better? That is a legit concern. Good o line or not, bad decisions have plagued him. Esp. in the red zone. Stats are great between the 20's. Picks in the red zone are not, at all. Forcing things when you have a chance are not, at all.
IF he can get smarter with the ball, this team could do some damage. IF he can beat top tier teams, this team could do some damage. It's not a Geno hate thing, it's a concern, and a valid one. He plays bad against much better teams.
But I'm sure I'll get called a hater, and I'm just making stuff up, blah blah blah.

So be it.

This phenomena isn’t something I have seen or otherwise read here. I’ve heard this specific claim before, but I haven’t actually seen people claim Geno is almighty or that people should bow to his excellence.
Yes, and not one person arguing that Geno is the best option for another year are “hyping him up.” The way folks put words in people’s mouths on here is laughable.

Long Term? Hmmmmm
What's laughable is that you don't actually see that people flat out DO hype him up. And that's fine. That's part of the QB position. Absolutely nothing wrong with believing in your guy. I just get blasted for having an opinion, strong or not. And I'm good with that. I don't mind the razzing.
I want him to be MUCH better than I give him credit for. I want him to succeed.

Exactly. I don't mind an extension at all. But with the ability to get out of it after 2025, 2026 and 2027. IF he think he's worth 45-50 a year, then he can ask for a trade. People didn't line up last year, not sure they would again.

A better OLine and better play calling will help alleviate pressure, that means there will be fewer times he's pushed into scenarios where he has a chance to make bad split second choices.

We need it, bad. Gotta' build from the trenches. Found myself VERY jealous watching Philly just flat out dominate on both sides of the line.

You make a good point, Wolv. Way less chances to force if he has actual time back there.

Yeah I mean pressure and forcing bad throws, pick six, etc is all something I recently saw on television.

Oh that’s right, it was Patrick Mahomes doing it in the Super Bowl.

You would think the highest would be 14/15.. considering we didn't make the playoffs because we couldn't score enough points. I say 14/15 because Russ didn't play good either the last part of the year
Yeah, I think Geno is near the middle. A good line makes an average QB look like an above average QB. Just putting it out there.

Well, Geno isn't half the QB Mahomes is. But ok.
By all means, compare one of the best of all time, who has 3 titles, and 5 SB's in 6 seasons.........to a guy who's never even won a playoff game.

My point continues to be proven by others. Hyped up to be something he's not, that's Geno.
Until I see different, that's MY view of him. You have yours, I have mine. It's ok that we disagree, welcome to Football.

The point was pressure caused all of his problems in that game. The effects of pressure aren’t unique to Patrick or to Geno. No matter how good Mahomes is, he looked foolish in that scenario. Get Geno better protection and his play will improve.

Hey, I agree with you. Will be interesting to see how he plays w/more time back there. All any QB wants.
Mahomes has produced behind crap blocking several times in his career. One of the best we've ever seen at scrambling around and creating. Russ did the same thing while running for his life. But, people downplayed that too. Meh.
One bad SB doesn't change what he is and/or has been. People WANT to hate on a guy, and that's fine. He's top 5 in the history of game, period.
I'm still waiting for Geno to knock off top tier teams and win playoff games. Hope to see it in 2025.

Yeah he's a good overall player that the article agrees and ranked appropriately.

Geno needs help and should get it this offseason.

He had a great season and definitely got better as the season progressed, but the dude was elevated a ton by Sean Peyton - and i say that as no slight to Nix at all. I would actually be thrilled if he was the dude in the wings when Geno moves on. But you could see the holes in his when he played defenses that could out-play the scheme SP drew up for him.
Again, thats no slight. He succeeded on his talent, no doubt, but was often riding with a lot of help from the training wheels SP bolted on for him. And it was the training wheels that got put him in position to get a lot of his great numbers.

Looking forward to seeing his second season. He's got game. But i wouldnt rank him much higher than he is based on just numbers.
20 is way too low. He was flat out better than Geno who is at 12 and others who are ahead of him. I watched a few of his games and I'm not saying Payton didn't help because he did but the dude was making all kinds of plays when the play broke down, the line failed miserably etc. He is better than people are giving him credit for this past year. I was blown away watching him at times make plays when there was nothing to make. The same situations that fold guys higher on the list.

I'm probably one of many who thought Bo and 3 would be an average NFL QB. This kid looks like he could be damn good.

Geno runs on a Pentium 133Mhz chip. Everything is a step slow. If he could process what's going on around him faster, he would be elite. Looking forward to him playing behind a much-improved O-line this year.

People getting riled up about an opinion based ranking is still funny.

The way a list should go is what would 32 GMs do? I don't necessarily have any issue with this list but I believe all 32 GMs would take Stroud over Smith.
