This is awesome. My respect for MM has doubled. The swiftness of this decision is telling. I cannot believe fans here even entertained the idea of keeping him for one more year. This emerging defense deserves a complementary clock munching physical attack.
I can't believe you care that some people thought he would come back. We all make predictions on stuff, we all get stuff wrong, big deal.
NOBODY knew for a fact what was going to happen. We speculate.

I had hopes for the guy, wanted to see the former UW coach do well.

But the progress you needed to see never materialized.

Another year would have been another experiment. I think he would've stayed a second year if there was anything you could hang your hat on as actual evidence he was adapting to NFL level defenses and rhythms, but there simply wasn't.

It was just too inconsistent and spotty at best. There are examples of single games and 1 quarter in that game where the offense was flawless, but then the next quarter it reverts to bad habits or poor adjustments.

10-7 when you're expected to be a 7 or 8 win team is a waste of a season? Hmmmm
We were 10-7, which is only one game better than last year.

Do you honestly think John let the winningest coach in our franchise's history go because we underachieved, only to get 1 game better? Did Mike look happy to you after the presser? He looked angrier than i have ever seen him.

The team was capable of more. We have excellent talent at every skill position on offense. Our o line, as has been discussed too many times to recall, was as much a function of crap coaching as anything else.

We ran dumb plays, we had zero balance, we surprised no defenses this year (unless them being caught off guard by how easy we made it for them to digure out what we were doing counts), we were situationally inept and every D coordinator knew it.

We gave games away and squandered a year of solid offensive talent under contract and together on a hack if an NFL OC..

A better OC gets us at least the Giants game, easily.

Thats 11 without trying and the playoffs.

I think JS is on the hot seat if he can't fix that oline next year. Excuses running out
If they can't address the QBotF issue, they damn well better address thee OLine, NT, Edge issues regardless.

Regardless of what people say, he's been here for 15 years. The excuses ran out a long time ago, but one thing people like to cling to as an excuse is that first 14 years didn't count because Pete was here and was the actual shadow government in charge and JS just signed the papers.

I'm just trying to put myself in Grubb defenders shoes and think like they do. It just doesn't make sense, so I wish those adement about Grubb staying would elaborate on what they saw that was worth keeping. So if curiosity is caring than sure, yeah I care. Perhaps I care too much for your liking? If so, I don't care about your emotions.

Talk football to me baby lets hear some analysis.

Grubb coming back for another season wouldn't be some huge surprise, at all. Just like it's not a huge surprise they moved on.

Hey, I'm surprised how many people continue to back Geno. It's a message board. Opinions vary, and it makes it fun.

Grubb is a smart guy, and a good person, from what we can tell, but yeah, the philosophical differences between him & MM made his ouster necessary.

When Mac was hired he stated he wanted to be physical and run the ball also. That did not happen. Reasons don't matter now it was not there. He will have the control of hiring now I think, now we wait. At least out of the playoffs we can focus on problems right away, target the guys we want and start the process.

Its simple. Geno Fd up Grubb's offense. Him and the o line...

Forget the fact that he was defacto / by proxy o line coach.

Which QB do you wanna replace Geno with? Is there anyone in college or sitting on someone's bench you have your eyes on? The Geno defense comes from lack of better options and a budget issue. If you haven't noticed, it's a league wide issue. Why on earth would anybody want a QB that has a monster contract or will eventually demand one? That's one of the main reasons the LoB dissolved.

Give me an A+ offensive and defensive line and I could care less who is at QB as long as they are C+ or better which I would say Geno is as of now.

As this team develops, let's keep our defensive stars, and offensive lineman around this time.

The keyword is "speculate", like Soulfish, this is a word I also use often. We don't know enough to make decisions, we make assumptions based on what we read or see with untrained eyes.

In the end, we speculate.

How anyone thought that Sh!+ show he was pedaling was NFL worthy, i dont know.

Geno has balled out considering the crap for offensive coordinator and O line coach he has had to play under. To lead the league in ANY positive stat category, let alone several, including accuracy and on target throws in an offense tha was DOA is remarkable.

Shoot, if i'm Geno, i wait to see who the nest guy is gonna be before i even want to sign in Seattle.

Thank you Geno. Thank you John. Thank you Mike.

Geno's going to show us now right?

You just need to go pick one off the QBOTF tree
