Regardless of what people say, he's been here for 15 years. The excuses ran out a long time ago, but one thing people like to cling to as an excuse is that first 14 years didn't count because Pete was here and was the actual shadow government in charge and JS just signed the papers.
I'm one of those, if you remember Pete's last presser it confirms pretty much
it was the Pete show!
I'd give JS one more season to show he clearly gets what needs to be done, like
fix the damn OL to average at least.

the defense was terrible and it didn't get fixed by changing the play calls, it got fixed by bringing in Earnest Jones

If they had traded for a stud LG would Grubb have had more success with the run and then called more runs?
It was more than just Jones, they moved Love,Spoon and got rid of Dodson,Gibson,Baker
and Thomas.
Jones was a key move but not the only one.

Sweet Jesus!
Love the firing and I wanted him from the start to replace Waldo,I was wrong..
Our Rbs showed they can run if they just got some carries, it never happened
much at all though.
Some of it was the dumbest shit in crucial situations that cost us games.
Bye Bye out of the pistol runs that never worked and bringing in Charbs on 3rd
or 4th and short telling the other team we are running, the stupid 2nd and long
run that never worked ect.
Passing 19 times straight? I'd have fired right then!
Please bring in OC who knows how the NFL works that's all I ask.

How anyone thought that Sh!+ show he was pedaling was NFL worthy, i dont know.

Geno has balled out considering the crap for offensive coordinator and O line coach he has had to play under. To lead the league in ANY positive stat category, let alone several, including accuracy and on target throws in an offense tha was DOA is remarkable.

Shoot, if i'm Geno, i wait to see who the nest guy is gonna be before i even want to sign in Seattle.

Thank you Geno. Thank you John. Thank you Mike.
Geno has no choice he's already under contract for next season, though that contract might get reconsidered or varied.

Will be interesting to see who they go with. It's clear Mike wants hard nosed running, churning out yards and wear the team down with explosive pass game off of play action. I felt like the writing was on the wall with his post game comments about not getting the run game going, make Geno's life easier, and they 'would emphasize it this week'. Just never happened. Not all on Grubb for sure, this OL is genuinely garbage. But his run design and play setup just didn't work. Way too much shotgun running, almost zero under center runs with play action built off.

Defenses knew what plays were coming simply seeing the formation. That's how McVay has been so good throughout his career; you see the same looks but he has dozens of options out of it. Can't say the same for Grubb unfortunately.

I assumed you would understand that I was being a little hyperbolic.

MM said if you need a yard, you should be able to get a yard after a loss in which we could not . I hope they get a seasoned NFL veteran coach or assistant who can do this, and also help the o-line

I think yesterday's interior pass rush was influenced by 3 "simple" things: 1. No Murphy II (look at defense's stats when he missed games), 2. Less effort due to meaningless game; play it safe approach, and 3. McVay is just too good when he spots a weakness.

I thought he would get another season, but of course I am not privy to behind closed-door information. Since this happened, I must assume there were irreconcilable differences with coach Mike and rather than wait he decided to act quickly. Seeing what the results were with the LB rehaul, I will gladly give coach the benefit of the doubt. And in all fairness, I think the biggest problem was the lack of improvement. We were running hot and cold, with no indication that we were heading in the right direction. I know some people say that that is hard to do without an offensive line, but in some parts (it seems to me) this should also be minimized by play calling. It seems we were always telegraphing running vs. passing plays and that has to make it hard on the OL.
Whoever we hire, I hope will have a more balanced attack with misdirections matching what coach is doing on the defensive side.

Bring on the draft (dammit, this will be a long but at the same time hopeful offseason).

No need for more McVay worship, the broadcast did enough of that with their 793 shots of him and everything Ram.
I'm sure he floated in midair to the stadium. I mean, being perfect and all.

I think the OL is mostly coaching, and some talent evaluation. I am thinking MM would be looking for a mobile and young QB, who makes the D guard the entire field, and can supplement the running game. Remember, players fall in the draft, or are not judged appropriately. There is always talent, you have to find the "Diamond in the Rough". Either that or lose games. I would have let the rookies play against the Rams. Save money on your QB bonuses. He MUST be gone soon anyway. They are never going anywhere with Geno. He simply doesn't have IT.

Well, many got what they wanted. I was good either way, to be honest. WAY too pass happy, imo. They gave it a shot, it didn't work out. Not a good fit for the type of coordinator he wants to be, imo.
Everyone is saying he put to much on Genos shoulders. Oh can’t expect our qb to put his big boy pants on and play better in the red zone. Oh by the way his two picks. In the red zone in the rams first game cost us the playoffs. But hey he got his 6 mil. The fired the wrong guy period. Can you say scapegoat?

I liked Grubb for some of his innovation, but the org has decided so moving on. JS and MM, do your research and identify a top offensive mind, pay top $$ for a year or 2 and lets see where that takes us. Be nice to have SOLID O-Line performance at a pro level.

Not asking for much.

2 things this does, sends a message that everyone is accountable, the second thing it says is we have a goal and if you are helping us get there the way I want we will find someone who can.

Pete was slow to react to obvious issues with his staff and actually some players he gave to much rope too.
