He never had the starting pitching (not even close) that SS had so the
BP got used too much.
Ya another thing about that is out of all the problems a skipper could be blamed for, deep playoff runs where the BP falters at the end is the "best" problem to have. At least you're in position to win divisions/make the world series, etc. Was Mike Hargrove former M's coach overrated because of his BP move in game 7 of the 97' World Series when he was managing Cleveland? Doubt you would find any Cleveland fans say Hargrove was overrated they love him in Cleveland. Sometimes your BP is going to blow games no matter what. There's a lot more to managing than a few stats. Shanegotyou you base everything off a few stats. Lol. The article you referenced is cringe.

Also it was harder to make the playoffs when Lou coached. Way harder only 8 teams made the playoffs each season.

Lou had so much talent and we didn't even get a WS appearance out of it. Give me prime Griffey, Arod, Big Unit, Edgar, etc. and I could probably take them to where Lou took them. I'm not trying to take away from Lou as a manager, but that team was absolutely stacked.

And Servais/DeHart had a stacked M's rotation. 96 Sonics were stacked too. Winning titles isn't everything first you have to be in position to win titles. Lets be real Ms weren't going anywhere with that hitting philosophy lol

I'm trying to convey that Lou's SP was not that great besides Unit, yes the offense was stacked but the SP wore that BP out.
This present offense could be average and that would be great because the pitching is
pretty good..
Too bad it's likely too late but that's why SS is gone too.

Sure we had a great rotation, but we had a historically bad offense. IDC how good your pitching is when basically your entire lineup is hitting .215.

You can't even compare the two teams IMO.

Sonics were stacked that year, unfortunately they ran into some guy named Jordan.

True, and the Ms under Lou ran into the Yankees dynasty. M's would have swept the Mets in the 2000 World Series.

Lmfao^. If it wasn't for social media guys nobody would know the Ms had worst offensive play in their history! Lou overrated because no titles as an M's coach. Ya dude cmon couldn't win another ring with a 3rd team? Psshhh

Julio heating up. His approach and stance is different.
Tag me next time. Lmao. You have zero baseball knowledge for 95% of your takes.

Lou Pinella won 1 ring as a manager. Again, Fact check your takes. Lol.

And no, he is overrated because of his as he had 4 plus hall of famers and didnt even sniff a WS with that team. Not from just me. Baseball people outside this fanbase.

I loved Lou. Lou is not perfect like ppl think in Seattle. Outside of Seattle, other fans had issues with him.

Its why WAR has him bottom ranked for a manager. They also said his 1997 should have made the world series and won it. Funny thing is I love Lou but the crowd who thinks Lou is perfect is funny.

Is anyone surprised that Dan Wilson isn’t a good manager? This had Jeff Saturday written all over it.

Stanton and Dipoto probably decided they were going to fire Servais and appoint an interim manager. This is a prove-it moment for Wilson to see if they can justify retaining him. For now, he's just there to sell tickets.

Dan Wilson has benched Leo Rivas to get JP back on the field and in the lineup. Rivas has a .277 BA and .382 OBP over the last 30 days (.320 BA and .393 OBP over the last 15 days). JP has a .195 BA and .301 OBP, and just 1 hit since returning from injury.

Wilson also moved Robles to the bottom of the lineup to put JP back in the leadoff spot. Robles has a .275 BA and a .341 OBP.

After tonight's game, Mitch Garver will have gotten more AB's than Justin Turner over the past week. Turner has a .252 BA and a .347 OBP. Garver has a .133 BA over the past 30 days, and just a .164 BA on the season.

WTF is Wilson doing?

Can't expect a new manager to all of the sudden turn around a mediocre team, with a historically bad offense, that an inept GM made worse in the off-season.
