I'm pretty certain all teams have had players traded to them that didn't wish to be there. So what? Be a professional and do your job. Try to make the best of it and maybe you'll improve your future situation.

From the responses here, I’m guessing you all just read the headline and didn’t listen to the interview. Shameful!
The quotation marks in the title makes it seem like it is a direct quote, but he never actually says it like it is framed. Essentially a clickbait title here in this once great forum. Time was the title would have already be edited and the poster called out for it.

It wasn't intentionally disrespectful towards Seattle. He was at home in Denver and didn't want to be anywhere else. Almost every other NFL location would have been a negative for him. Trading for a player whose family has settled is always a risk.

With hindsight trading for disgruntled players now seems less risky/more attractive.

What exactly do you want to call me out for?

"I am thinkng I am getting traded to purgatory. We're about to be trash in Seattle. Russ, it's like... it's like, Russ was the reason. Russ was the reason."

That is the direct quote. With the quotation marks in the title, it implies that Harris is saying that he still feels that Seattle is a purgatory. More than half of the replies here seem based on that exact impression.

The purgatory he implies is the Seahawks would be stuck without Wilson, because he was our only saving grace on the team. Let's be honest, at least eighty percent of the fan base felt the same way. More than ninety percent of the NFL world felt that way.

Regarding his feelings about Seattle, he was depressed about the trade and it colored his experience of living there. The interviewer even asked him directly about Seattle and he said it was more his mentality.

Framing it as "Seattle is a purgatory" directly affects how others will perceive it. If that wasn't your goal, then I don't know what to tell you.

I don't think what he said was that bad. He thought the Seahawks were going to suck and the Broncos were going to contend like many did after that trade. Instead Denver sucked and the Seahawks made the play offs.

I do find it odd he seems to love Cleveland of all places. Also the browns are kind of stuck in purgatory having a relativrely good roster but not being able to take the next step due to paying one of the worst QB contracts in history.

I disagree with his Seattle weather takes though. Seattle has great summers without humidity and mild winters. The grey sucks in the winter but it's not super cold or snowy/icy. especially compared to some of the east coast/midwest places.

This goes in the BOO HOO! file.

I seem to recall him saying upon arrival that he was excited to play here with/for PC. I guess purgatory set in after that when he sucked as DE/DT

All this purgatory crap is just that, crap.

He didn't work out here and was not as good as advertised, C'ya crybaby.

Mind you this was time when the team had 'Hopeless Hurrt' as the DC so maybe his not working out had a lot to do with him not being used well.

He's been replaced and so has the HC DC and some key parts of the DLine, Harris is not missed.

He called it a Purgatory, not me. He also said Seattle is a "s%#t team". Should I have used that as the title instead??

Since when did going off titles alone become sufficient as to actually reading or watching the source material?

How others perceive what he said isn't up to me. I just provided the source. It's up to them (and you) to actually read and watch the material and take it as you will.

Back in Seattle.
So now he gets to play for the Cleveland Browns with their zero Super Bowl appearances. Enjoy.
And already complaining about starting training camp...sounds like a manchild and a bit of a knock on JS for not doing a bit more due diligence before agreeing to trade for him.

A few thoughts:
  1. Quite sure that he wasn't the pivotal piece in the trade, more like a piece thrown in to make $ work.
  2. He was settled in Denver, kids, love the city etc., we got that, but he should be mad at Bronco for trading him, not us?
  3. He certainly didn't make the best of his opportunity in Seattle, being at best mediocre.
  4. Why's he running his mouth now? what has he got to gain by doing so?
  5. I have spent months in Seattle and Denver, house hunted in both, it's like comparing a Bentley with a Hyundai, not even close.
