A lot of things to consider, with cap space, roll overs that may affect next year, getting them acclimated to the offense, conditioning, a whole bunch of stuff.

It's worth pointing out the obvious here, which is that these are all tackles who are currently available while guys like Bailey and McQuistan are getting NFL starts. If we want an upgrade we would be more likely to find one via trade.

The Broncos have a great OL but yet they picked up a guy we traded to them?

What does that say about our OL eval?

With all the rocks the front office looks under, you dont think they are convinced these are the best that are available?

On the other hand there is still a day or 2 left to make trades.. But I think we have to scheme our way out of this, not acquire a new player who hasnt played with the other guys and doesnt know the offense.

And where does that happen? Left Tackles R Us? Left Tackle Mart? O-Line City?

Well if you are gonna shop at these stores, Black Friday is right around the corner.

The Broncos do NOT have a great OL.

They have an experienced legend at QB who gets the ball out quickly to open receivers, and has been making average to subpar O-lines look good for over a decade.

Jason Smith is available? I'd be willing to throw the dice on that reclamation project.

Count to two when Peyton takes the snap and it is usually out of his hands and hitting an open receiver. He gets the ball off so quickly that he masks an average or subpar line. Not sure what exactly allows him to do this, but we could use some of that.

Mentioned this in another thread. Peyton is good at getting it out quickly but behind our line, he'd have taken quite a few more hits by now and probably be nursing a broken everything on the sidelines.

RW has masked how terrible this line is all season long but Long and Quinn didn't let him use his legs tonight.

At this point put in Alvin Bailey. Even if he's worse than McQuistan, at least he has a chance to get better.

You know who I miss? Tyler Polumbus. He's turned into a pretty good tackle with the Redskins and we sure could use him now. Still don't know why they cut that guy. He was solid whenever he had to fill in.

Gaither? The only reason to bring him in would be to start a hot tub club with Okung. He won't play with pain either. If we are going to get somebody its got to come from a trade with a team going nowhere.
otherwise we need to do a better job of helping the guys we already have and address the line off season.
