Seems like Dan Quinn staying in Dallas last year might have been an expectation (planned or not) to try for a HC job this off-season. Maybe he's been the plan all along. Jody, Dan and Pete could have easily all agreed to a succession last offseason. Even if not, Pete won't get fired, but it could easily be a mutual agreement for him to move to head cheerleader for a year or two (or some other front office made up title). I think he's coached his last game.
Hmmmmm

Everybody who's a candidate in this league I'd wager would be looking at the Seattle spot as an A++++ job. Great tradition. Great ownership. Great GM. Winning track record. Great talent.

If I were Dan I'd have waited as well. Houston, Denver and Arizona were talked about for him. There were 100 reasons, 5 of which are listed above, for Dan to pass knowing the Seattle job would come open in a year or two, or that Jerruh would nab him to replace Mike if he faltered. That's just smart.

And I'm sure Schneider and him still talk. But planned?

Not necessarily. But maybe...
