Interesting story. Just a few days ago, the word was that the Steelers weren't ready to move on from Kenny Pickett. I'm wondering if Pickett is going to be on the trading block.

So, Russell and Ciara are part investors in the insurance firm that has steeler naming rights…

So anyway, this story posits that if Russ doesn’t get an deal done with Steelers he may have to wait until after the Draft, at which point any suitors will have their qbotf and his reign as a starter is guaranteed to be temporary No matter how well he does.

He has already made some critical errors in handling a situation everyone knew would happen, that being his release.

The Marshall interview just raised questions of how Russ will play without an injury guarantee. And then minorly there’s his lip syncing performance and his Entourage at Sb58 and the sag where he is being dom-Ed by a latex covered Ciara who 65 pounds heavier and looks like a sausage now.

If he weren't so da## rich and he did't leave in such a crappy way I might feel a little for him but
I feel like we were the only ones who knew he was washed about 5 years ago and everybody else just watched the highlights on nfln or espn etc.etc.
I am 50/50 on weather or not he even gets a backup job anywhere
I would be surprised if he gets another starting job

Now I am hearing Raiders and Patriots.
The Patriots have been my first guess from the get-go. A new coach anxious to put his signature on the team, #2 overall pick in the draft, ready to move on from Mac Jones, and a good QB draft class means they're likely taking a quarterback at that spot. Rather than throw their QBOTF to the wolves on a bad, rebuilding team, better to hire a cheap stand-in for a year and let him take the punishment.

Nathan Rourke plus Russell Wilson, on paper looks like a good combination.

Whether it would translate on the field though?

I wouldn't want my rookie QBOTF learning from Me3 yikes!

They have the third overall, meaning Maye or Daniels. Plus, couldnt They just get JimmyG with the same offset language as Russ as he still has guaranteed money coming? Jimmy G has been with the team before and phi’s job has been training qbs, so if I were them, I’d opt for him.

Good idea not sure if JGs body can handle playing anymore.

Last year he had a concussion and a back keep him out for weeks 4, then 6-7. The team then moved to Aidan O Connell. Jimmy’s not going to his next team announcing he’s going to win 2 super bowls, which was another unhelpful thing Russ said about himself in the Marshall interview.

As a coach, I’d prefer to have Jimmy or Flacco or Minschew or Tannehill As my bridge starter. A guy who will come in with a low profile to pave the way, not some celebrity Driven to get attention for himself.

I can already hear Me3 spewing his BS at his Stealers introductory press conference. "The tradition," "the city," "coach Tomlin," and of course name dropping lots of past and present Stealers players. 🤮

My bad. You're right, it's Bears, Commanders, then the Pats. Thanks for the correction.

Jimmy G is still under contract with the Raiders. Besides, it's been 7 years since he last played with the Pats. None of his coaches are still there. The only person with the Pats that would have any kind of personal relationship with him would be the owner.

As far as our personal preferences goes, we have to recognize that Russell is extremely unpopular amongst Seahawks faithful, and for good reason. But that doesn't mean that the rest of the league harbors those same sentiments.

Wilson is guaranteed $39M next season. Garappolo is due nothing at all. His $11.5M guarantee from the $23M total he was due to earn was voided due to his failing a drugs test. Garappolo will miss the 1st 2 games of the 2024 season. Clearly he's not worth $23M any more. In a normal offseason following a few retirements and limit Draft options Wilson and Garoppolo might be competing for $12-18M contracts. The current market is very difficult to gauge. Mayfield is obviously safer and a bit better but it's hard to justify $30M on a guy who might not be able to win it all with a top team.

Mayfield may end up resigning with the Bucs. Unless they trade up, they're sitting at #26 overall and unlikely to nab one of the top QB's. At the very least, he'd be a good bridge if they did draft a QB.
