Pete also made the mistake that the team has two starting caliber QB on the roster, basically implying that anyone of them could start at anytime if need be.
I'd probably replace "starting caliber" with "solid back-up" but since we don't get to see Lock I am not even sure of that.

Geno simply isn’t playing good enough. I don’t know if they win today if he dominates, Ravens are an excellent team, but he is actively a negative for the offense. He makes splash throws here and there but otherwise the offense comes to a crippling halt way too often for how much talent they have. He also threw another 3 dropped interceptions while on a league leading turnover pace. Romo is frequently critical of him not setting up protections either. Ravens do a great job disguising blitzes but many were obvious and Geno did nothing pre-snap to help his line. Lock absolutely should have gotten the fourth quarter today.

I'll bet you 20 bucks tough guy. Want to play? :p
LOL. I'm not a tough guy, I just am not a fan of the habit of most humans throwing out easy predictions when there's no cost to them.....which is largely why they do it. :) Do you have Venmo? If so (or if you're willing to sign up), then you're on. We can also wager the more valuable of the only two things ever worth wagering on if you're interested, by the way. (Dignity and money being the only two worthy options.) Let me know.

Also for the record, I think we have at least a 70% chance to win the next two. I'm not agreeing to the wager because I think it's more likely to lose, I'm doing it to get someone, somewhere in this whole damn world, to put their money where their mouth is. :ROFLMAO:

All I want as a fan is either for us to be a legitimate contender to reach the Super Bowl (we are not) or that we are BUILDING to be a legitimate contender to reach the Super Bowl. The recent two drafts have been encouraging EXCEPT that I do not believe Geno or Lock are QBs that can get us anywhere near a Super Bowl so it feels like we are neither contending nor building. Last draft was the time to get the next QB even if not an early pick so they would have this year to acclimate. That delays everything one more year. For no reason.

This is the kind of banter that I respect and can get behind 💯

Way too often we allow minor differences come between us.

More on what is happening with Geno…

Opponents are stacking the box on 1st and 2nd down, taking away the run--daring Geno to beat them. He can't.

Then you get to 3rd and long, and well… It's 3rd and long, every QB is screwed put in that situation consistently.

The main issue on the team stems from Geno being a liabilty and opponents over time have now figured out how to exploit it.

Some will blame other components for the failure. But Geno is the centerpiece of their problems.

The Seahawks have been consistently bad on both sides of the ball on 3rd down for years now, and that is absolutely a consistent coaching philosophy. "Wait, wait, let's just see what happens here." Pete likes to steal games like a thief in the night, which works more times than not. Until you run up against good teams. Or in the playoffs. Which is all good teams.

Pete will probably get a reprimand from the Parity Happy NFL for losing by so many points. KEEP THE GAMES CLOSE FOR ADVERTISING.

I like your takes and agree with you on most things, but the "don't use 'we' when referring to the team you root for" argument is specious at best. I'm the biggest grammar Nazi on this forum, and even I think it's dumb to take it literally that someone means they are PART of the team by using the word "we" when referring to the Seahawks in some capacity.
"We" is a dog whistle for someone who is too emotionally invested, and unable to look at things objectively.

This particular poster has shown this time and time again.

That is all, nothing more deeper than that.

Our FO -GM, personnel dept and coach are regarded around the league as one of the absolute best at navigating the cap and maintaining talent. Have no doubt they'll do it again in 24, even if some faces change. That's the way of it.
What a generic statement.

League rules require every team to do this.

All teams are holding on to their best players for the most part. It's why Free Agents are Free Agents for a reason.

As it pertains to this thread,

I am arguing Geno has to go for the massive cap savings, and to draft a QB.

I continue to see nothing that would change my mind week after week.

If you honestly think Drew would have done better today I would have to say you do not watch enough football. Drew would have gotten his ass ate up, down and out. Ravens are really good and I do not think they will lose many more games this season. That was a superbowl team that destroyed us today. Not much else to say. Only thing id say about Geno is he could have scrambled more but id have to think he is still laboring that injury he had im not certain. Just my honest perspective.
Drew would've done better, here's why.

Film. They have a lot of it on Geno these days. Opponents have figured out, if you take K9 away on early downs, Geno will puke all over himself. And can't beat you.

Drew Lock offers an element of surprise, he may fizzle out quick. But I do know he would've put up more than 3 points.

If we look at regular season wins, there's not much difference between the Seahawks and Rams since McVay took over. I mean, both teams have exactly 63 wins.

Playoffs and Super Bowls are another story. But it's worth remembering Seattle was at the end of their run by 2017 and in a pretty unfortunate cap situation due to career-ending injuries.
Playoffs and Super Bowls are kinda what it's all about.

I was told in this thread that the Seahawks are one of the best at manuering the cap. So it can't be used as an excuse.
