The 2010 Panthers weren't a terrible team. They had a top 10 rushing attack, the rushing defense was pretty solid and the DBs weren't bad either. They couldn't pass the ball and they couldn't pressure opposing QBs. They lost 14 games and had a points differential of -212. The 2022 Seahawks remind me of that team. Hope i'm wrong.

I voted 5-9, by mid season look for the Seahawks to get creative with their players, like starting Alton Robinson and moving Boye Mafe to ILBer, this will increase the chaces of stopping the run. We've got to find a way to get more talent on the field.

From a morale perspective, energy, enthusiasm and the very strong, and very clear message from Jody, whether being in the war room in the draft, or firing shots directly and publicly at Russ for his dishonesty in leaving, that the gauntlet has been thrown down. The players are hungry to prove what this team is. I think the hallmarks that made our team great in the past, we have in spades again. Commitment to one another, unit to unit, within the offense, within the defense, and between offense and defense. That hasn't been a thing since 2013.

I think the struggles in preseason are a bit overblown, both because of the number of bench guys that have had to play in a new system, and that the team isn't running a ton of their 'real' stuff. Al Woods said that pretty directly in his presser when asked what he thought was behind the defense's struggles - that they werent showing a ton.

The team can either struggle early and claw its way to stability by seasons end, or... catch lightening in a bottle with some early wins that build confidence and have them playing above their pads.

Feels like a 6-11 team, but hopefully the running game is legit and it keeps them in a lot of games. I suspect they will struggle until around November. But, a lot of really good young players are getting their experience and reps this year. Add that to a lot of draft picks in 2023, and this team can be good sooner than later imo.

0 wins...thats my expectation. I am actually looking forward to a year of not getting nutted up before every game. I'm not going to be a "we gotta win! win! win!" fan this year. I'll take what they can get. As a matter of fact...if they do lose alot....then every loss will have a bright spot. Kind of nice for once. Just to enjoy the good things as they come.
My only hope is that it doesn't demoralize the team. I'd hate to see lots of drama....if we are going to "walk into the sunset" this year...do it with pride, do it attempting to always improve....do it with an eye for the future. Because I truly believe the future starts next year after the draft. If we don't waste picks....guard our cap space.......and have a good/great draft, then this team will be right back in the mix again.
I don't wish to sound like a defeatist......I'm just going to take an emotional Mulligan on this year...before it even happens. I've loved our Hawks before, I love our Hawks now......and always will love our Hawks.

I'll also take a special interest in Denver. Not because RW.....but because of next years draft.

On to the prediction I made back when the schedule came out: 5 wins.

I figure they can beat: ATL + NYJ + NYG, and 2 other teams somewhere… because it's the NFL.

If they start Geno the whole season they will be in play for the #1 pick. But Drew Lock will eventually get the nod, and that will bump them up to the next tier. If Pete takes too long making the switch they will finish under 5 wins.

Dishonesty about leaving? As soon as Jody chose the fossil over the needs for the franchise QB, it was pretty evident he was leaving. He had to. The team was never going to go anywhere as long as Carroll was still around.

The hunger and commitment you speak of will evaporate as the losses start piling up. Always does.

Interestingly, Allen was not a vocal or an actively engaged owner, but here she broke her silence and made a STRONG statement. She wasn't going to allow Russell Wilson lie into being the victim, I would speculate that to guys in the locker room, she became the owner after that statement.

My gut tells me this could be a contending team for the play offs if they get above average play from the QB position, stay healthy and the young guys play well. I guess we will see how far the culture of the team takes the young guys. I think they had a GREAT draft and that has set a foundation to build on
