It wasn't all Shaheed.

The Seahawks' special teams finished in the top-three in field position after a kickoff, field position after a kickoff return and opponent net-punt average. Those stats have nothing to do with Rashid Shaheed.

Of course, Rashid Shaheed was a big part of the special team's success, but don't forget that Tory Horton had a 95-yard punt return for a TD before the trade for Shaheed.

A lot of people wanted Jay out after the ST struggles last year. I myself was admittedly unsure on him. But man am I coming to respect Macdonald knowing what's what. He know's when someone just isn't ever going to cut it and to let go of them (Ryan Grubb) and he knows when to give someone more time. Jay didn't deserve to be out after just 1 year and coach had faith he'd turn it around. Now we are the best ST unit in football.
