After Disney bought ABC and ESPN it only took moving Monday night football to ESPN and them start Grandstanding for the Broadcast, still liked Stuart Scott and Chris Berman, but they ruined Monday Night Football for years and their coverage on weekends started to torpedo downward. After about 5 years unless a game is on that I want to watch I never go there anymore.

I used to hate how much the Rams were dissed on, overlooked and generally disregarded while they were in the Midwest.

I remember listening to a San Diego Chargers radio talk show during the time the teams were fighting to move to LA, and the hosts were like: aren’t the Rams that nothing team you just switch the channel on? Like who cares?

Well, I cared! A lot.

Well, the Rams are kind of worshipped by the media, often. Shoot, worshipped by some of our own fans. Not much dissing going on with the Rams these days. Coach Pretty boy clearly walks on water
But the remote is always ready when needed. Once they start getting on their knees for the almighty Coach McPerfect, channel change.

The current LA Rams, yes.

The St. Louis Rams during 1 or 2 wins a season years, not so much.

I’ve been a fan for both, so I appreciate the difference.

Also, I don’t recall ever even acknowledging the Seahawks as interesting until the Marshawn Lynch time period.

Then it was: god damn this team is fun to watch

That’s cause Jeff fisher was a bad guy

He served a purpose for the Rams.

And I wanted him to be our coach so bad. Spagnola ruined the Rams and I hated his four pillars and the ridiculous way he wanted to erase Rams history. Fisher was needed.

No doubt. I went to a game out there years ago. The 4th down fumble game. The people tailgating were so cool. Most of them talked about how it was a baseball town and very few care about the Rams. I can see why they moved.

It used to bother me a LOT when I was younger, but I don't care anymore. I think, after living on the east coast for many years, I have a better understanding than when I was young as to why we're dismissed as much as we are. Doesn't make it right, I just see how it's that way. This time of year, it's just lazy journalism. Which is really saying something considering we're talking about sports journalism here, which to acquire your credentials for that job all you need to do is buy enough boxes of Cracker Jacks.

It was very easy as a Seahawks fan to hate Jeff fisher and the rams. It was like Jim harbaugh and the niners

It was and is a baseball town.

I am still in love with it because of how much time I have spent there going to Rams games. If it were not for the Rams, I would have never been there.

Planning a trip back next year for their Whiskey in the Winter event. I want to show @JustTheTip all of my favorite places in St. Louis.

Did the tour of the stadium. Incredible baseball history. So impressive.

I've seen it all except the baseball stadium. Probably never will see that.

I do have a favorite "blues" dive bar. They also love their hockey team. You can have some of the best fried bar food ever at the hockey bars.

I ought to be in the minority here as I enjoy opinions from media and analytics from various outfits. Here's why:
  1. Most of the talking heads have more knowledge or experience than I do; they are mostly former players, coaches, scouts, or long-time observers. Could they be wrong? Absolutely, but I enjoy reading their opinions. I find them educational but never take them as the bible. They were guessing, just like me, and teams got it wrong, drafting etc., all the time.

  2. Analytics are even more fun. I remember old-fashioned coaches and front office types resisted analytics for a long time. When analytics were in their infancy and the old timers couldn't understand them. It was fashionable for GM/coaches to belittle analytics then. Now? I think you would find it difficult to find employment if you aren't well-versed with analytics.
I normally form my opinions based on my eyes (25%), analytics (60%), and "expert" opinions (15%). Football God has been kind to me, as I have full access to analytics site for free.
This is close to how I approach it. Depending on who the pundit is, I may care or might not. I know enough to decypher a reasonable, informed decision from click bait.

The hawks fanbase is well known to get panties in a bunch over dumb stuff, driving the baiters. Easy for me to go "meh", and move on.

Give me someone who's done their homework on team strengths & weaknesses and has some degree of authority to have an informed opinion...I put a reasonable degree of care into the feedback.

Life's too short to put any energy into uninformed talking heads, Hawks related or not.
