Which rookie OL was it that played so well at left tackle in the preseason, Bailey or Bowie? In light of Okung and the lost look Paul M had last night, maybe one of these guys could fill in till big Rus gets back.

Thanks glove, hopefully that wasn't just preseason success. We might be alright this week but we can bring him along.

Bailey did look good. He might be able to handle it in a couple weeks I suspect (hope?). They would need to let him go against Clem, Avril to see if he could handle fast edge rushes

Alvin Bailey

Yup. He looked awesome in the first pre-season game vs the chargers but then something went horribly wrong in the final three pre-season games. I have no way to explain the night and day performances other than the fact he's a rook.

And McQuistan was thrown out there at left tackle against one of the better speed rushers in the league without having had any practice at tackle during the week. Something tells me he will do a better job over the next few games than he did last night.

I hope this is the case, Paul went in at LT completely cold and against one of, if not the best pass rushers in the league. But man........losing Okung for any period of time is gonna hurt us badly.

Good perspective on McQuistan. You don't really think of it that way in the heat of battle, but he's going to get a break against Jacksonville and will probably be at least somewhat better with practice.
