I said there is a good chance. C'mon man, what is your deal? I digress.

Not hindsight. A lot around here didn't think a whole lot about Dre Jones long before they re-signed him.

And as far as the $53M contract, that's about what Ben Powers got. Going rate, you want cheaper then extend them before they hit the market.
I'm not sure if you understand what hind-sight means...

Russell Wilson, before his departure, "threw the OL under the bus". To defend Wilson, our online has not been good, although his style didn't help. Since his departure, we have INVESTED heavily in OL but our scout sucked:

  1. Drafted Cross, he is turning out ok, although he is way above average in yielding QB pressure. I would love to buy Geno drinks and get his opinions on Cross.
  2. Bradford, a project, but 2 years later, still a project.
  3. Fearing that Bradford may not work, we invested high draft pick on a Bradford replacement, Christian Haynes. So far, Macdonald simply said Haynes didn't have NFL level strength. WHAT? who was the scout in evaluating Haynes?
  4. We have a Center in Olu, he got out-competed by journeyman centers, and forced team to invest our limited cap space in signing Connor Williams.
  5. Lucas was the bright spot, but he sat more than he played.
  6. We let Lewis and Evan Brown go, so far, Lewis is a PFF 70.3 LG with 75.6 pass blocking. Brown is the starting LG for Cardinals, his PFF is 69.7 with 73.1 pass blocking. Anthony Bradford? 50.4 with 58.6 pass blocking.
We just kept making mistakes in making the OL personnel decisions.

The Seahawks could have released Jones before Feb 16 2024 when much of this year's $11.5M became guaranteed. I'm not a fan but at that price I would probably also have retained him over paying Lewis or Williams. Williams looked like the safest option.

I might have felt differently if they didn't already have Mafe and Hall and still paying Uchenna.
