We've all seen the plays from kam jumping over the line (not sure if this one counts buy i'll include it for debates sake) to crowd noise getting flagged and so many more , some already having basic rules and some plays caused the rules to be tweaked just a bit
I just wanted to debate and actually get a list going of seahawk plays that the nfl seemingly changed the rules if for no other reason than it was a seahawk that was the cause
I'll start with a recent one
In my mind this was the epitome of what the rule was for and no one in the nfl more deserving that year but because geno was seahawk now it's been changed ?
I just can't think of another good reason or what the behind closed doors meeting thinking was

Geno and the changing of the rules concerning comeback player of the year

Add your own and discuss

I distinctly remember the Seahawks being penalized for the crowd being too loud at games back in the Kingdome. Not sure if they changed the rules because of us though.

Vinny Testaverde Phantom "touchdown" in December 1998 screwed the Seahawks out of a playoff spot. That play was a catalyst for instant replay returning in 1999.
Yeah , that was definitely one I remember where I was ( restaurant bar in lacey) and can't remember if it was a non sellout blackout but the replay was so obvious and the whole place was in an uproar about it
There are quite a few over our history , good catch

Maybe not the "rules" per say, but they changed the rules enforcers after week 4 in 2012 because of us.

I sure feel like maybe not the letter of the rules have been changed but definitely the flag emphasis has definitely been steered because of our team , quite often the legion so keep on keepin on

Those were the days, my 12s,
We thought they'd never end
We'd play and win forever and a day
We'd play the way we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we drafted well and sure to have our way

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our stars on the way
If by chance I'd see each other on .NET
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
Those were the days, my 12s,
We thought they'd never end

Faking a injury against Cincinnati on Monday Night Football to slow down the no huddle, Joe Nash.

Kingdome Noise and then penalties to silence the crowd, eliminating BILL the Beerman from being able to run around the stadium floor to amp up the crowd.

Changing contact rules for DB's, LOB cause.

I can raise you a sport where there were two rules changes, due to an individual player.

Dennis Lillee, the Australian cricketer, went out to bat with an aluminium bat. Apart from the awful noise that went round the stadium, it damaged the ball. The rule about the bat, was changed to state that it can only be wooden. He also liked to leave and change his shirt regularly. A rule was brought in, that after leaving the field for a nonmedical reason. You could not bowl immediately on returning.

Is there a rule in the NFL, that Kickers cannot wear heavy boots, after one had a boot full of Lead.

The NFL took some real heat with the “Fail Mary” game against Green Bay. Wasn’t exactly a rule change but it was impactful enough for the NFL to quickly come to an agreement with the NFL refs and they returned.

Seattle was/is still hated by Green Bay and their fans and probably just NFL fans in general for the outcome of that game.

If you’re a Seahawks fan, you can bet you’re either not important enough to be recognized by other fans or you’re just very much hated by other fans. It’s always one or the other.

It’s who we are. Go figure.

The Joe Nash knee fake was not on Monday Night Football but rather a playoff game against Cincinnati in 1989.
