JSEA:

I am unsure whether it impacts their play or not. As I said, they are very young and they've received a ton of press. They wouldn't be the first in sports to get big heads and put their own brand before the team's. The only way to know for sure is for them to step back from it, then bring it back when they are shutting teams down on a weekly basis.

I didn't mean for my comment to turn into thread within the thread. It was just my opinion and without control over such affairs, I will just have to endure it all and hope we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by allowing the secondary to (basically) isolate themselves from the rest of the team.
I don't wonder why most NFL teams fail to engage in such activity.

Any suggestion that the Seahawks have never "accomplished anything" is just guh.

The last 3 games the "legion" has been abused. I sincerely hope that lights a fire under them because that kind of play will not work against NO. After last year I never would have thought I would see the day that our dline outplays the secondary on passes.

I think we sh*tcan this whole "Legion of boom" thing. It's gone to their heads. Such monikers are reserved for truly great groups like the Steel curtain, Killer Bs and Purple people eaters. This is supposed to be the "best secondary in football". This group is very, very good when giving their all, but they have also cost us games (Miami, Atl, Indy, to name a few) and possibly a SB (if we beat Miami we win the NFCW). I think they're too young to be bestowed any title other than Seattle secondary. Less talk, more solid play. Then they will be more deserving of the limelight, IMO.

Wow. Overreact much?

You talk as much as they do, you better be elite. Making superstars out of players like Cecil Shorts and TY Hilton is far from it.

PLEASE NOBODY HAVE FUN! THIS IS ALL BUSINESS!

LOB T-shirt and poster sales is "business". Winning a SB would be "fun".

Any questions?

I've had 30 years of fun being a Seahawks fan, and never won a Super Bowl.

Why is it that every single loss you're one the very few to keep your head screwed on straight?

This place is just depressing after a loss. Last year, it was all about how much Wilson sucked and Pete Carroll was an idiot for starting him over Flynn. Right at this point in the season. People saying Pete started Wilson too soon, blah blah blah. Kinda funny when you look back on it.

This season, our secondary is just too young, arrogant, and average.

Sorry dudes, but if that's how you feel after one loss, maybe it'd be good to take a short break and gain some perspective.
I've watched football since the mid 70's, grew up watching that violent Raiders secondary who was the second best of all time.

The Legion of Boom is better. More violent. Faster. Bigger playmakers. I feel kinda sorry for people who are too blinded by the day to day to see that bigger picture and really enjoy and savor it while it's still happening. Someday you'll look back and remember how special it was and you won't even remember this game.

10 years ago I would have been pissed off for a week after a loss. After the Super Bowl depression I just decided that wasn't worth it. We look forward to football season for 8 months and only get about 20 games a year, might as well find some way to enjoy them all.

A lot of the more level headed folks just avoid this place after a loss. It cracks me up to see folks talking about how delicious the Niners tears are when the boards melt down. Our boards are just as bad. Right now we're just entertainment for the enemy.

Imagine this place if we would have just lost by 30. :thfight7:

This guy. The fact that you named the ATL game tells me you are clearly fishing, or just insane.

Before last year I was unaware we had a fan base that behaved this way. I find myself coming here to defend the team against overreactions the week after losses. It shouldn't be that way. Most of what is said makes no sense at all....and uses very little logic.

When I did find out this is how people acted I lost some faith in the 12th man. I guess you can say all teams have people like this, but Im not sure why so many actually post here. Perhaps it is disporportionate.

Man, I hear ya. Spent a good deal of the day in a bit of a funk, even though I saw some good stuff in the game. But I still enjoyed it, no reason to freak out.

It was a rough weekend, with the Stanford trifecta. But honestly? It's football. I went outside and dug up my flower beds, put new landscape fabric in, and put out some new cedar mulch. It was hard work and by the time I was done, all I wanted was a cool drink, and the loss didn't sting so badly.
