Hawks fan since day one and I am convinced that they will win this game! But I also predict we come away from this game with a lot (!) of things to work on for the Niner game!

Very nervous. I have so much anticipation and expectation with this team, if we lose it will be tougher than usual. Don't want to deal with all the "told ya so's" this early in the year. This game, regardless of outcome, will not affect my overall confidence in what this team can and should accomplish this year.

"I am a longtime diehard Seahawks fan and I am totally convinced we are going to WIN"

Which means, I am set up for disapointment.

You forgot the option: "I am a longtime, diehard Seahawk fan who is used to letting my expections get too high then get crushed by season's end"

Sometimes I'm so wound up I watch the game with my hands over my eyes looking between my fingers like a school girl watching a horror flick....lol....well, not quite that bad. But damn close...lol

edit: I didn't notice this was about Sundays game. But I'm sure the above will still be fairly accurate.

I was a little nervous until I watched the Denver game again... We had good pass rush, our O line was opening massive holes for our run game. Our pass blocking was still a real concern but then again we didn't run many screens or read options. And with all of that Avril, McDaniel and Mebane all were full participation in Thursday's practice. I hope Browner is ready to go but if not I am confident in Maxwell or Lane. Our special teams is lights out better than last year...

In short, even with our injuries we are a better team this year and any rust will be with our offense and will be gone by the second half. I would bet our defense and special teams scores at least 14 points....

Not nervous here! I call Blowout!

I always respect the football gods these days, on paper we should win, our roster has more pieces in place and a axe to grind still.

Now having said that,

Any given Sunday

Road game

10 am start

Offciating

the weird crap that seems to happen to us with plays and unusual bounces etc.

So yes in between.

Convinced we are going to win. We win the toss and let the D set the tone. 3 and out for Fig Newton, we block the punt just like Dallas last year and that will be that. Fig will be seen wearing a nice Gatorade towel on his head from the 2nd quarter on. We roll 31-6. These aren't the same old Hawks, these are WilsonHawks.

I'm one of those that has to many years of losing to be completely free of doubt for any game. But early start, opener in someone elses house.

During the first half of the game last night I thought "our guys playing like they did in preseason can beat the crap out of either of those teams".

But still I worry.

Longtime Seahawks fan.

Cam Newton (against our defense) is the source of my optimism, though if we lost it would hardly shock me.

Fan since I can remember...5 or 6.

I'll wake up at 3 AM or so, for real, begin muttering Wu Tang lyrics, pacing and smoking (think Rainman whenever he entered an uncomfortable situation). I wont feel an ounce of relief until 0:00 is on the clock. I'll be a nervous wreck...screaming and moaning over every yard gained or given up.

I'll never be confident. Even knowing this roster can simply "show up" and win 8 games.

Fan since day one. Never wavered. Not for one season. Have attended many many games but none (not even the NFC Championship) equaled the feeling I had when we won our first playoff game in 23(?) years vs Washington and knowing I had waited that long for that day.

Re: this week's game?

I've been back and forth on this game all week. Primarily due to our weakened pass rush and Dline and the weather/climate. I won't be overly surprised if we lose-nor worried. We could start out 0-2 and I would still expect us to go 14-2 and win the Super Bowl this year.

Currently, as I sit aboard a flight from Las Vegas to MSP, I have a very calm feeling of assurance we are going to beat the living shit out of Carolina physically and come away with the victory.

Being a Hawk fan so long...I think I developed a response to so much losing and disappointment.
I somehow always hung onto the hope and dream that the Hawks could somehow pull out games until the final second ticked off of the clock.
I am aware that would have taken a miracle in many cases...but I had to have some kind of hope (dreams) in the midst of losing and mediocrity.

But now - I have seen that crazy hoping that the Hawks can win any game, against anyone, or come back from any deficit...actually come true.
Russell Wilson believes the Hawks can win...no matter what.
And so do I.

Be honest.

Oh, I am being honest when I vote I'm worried that we'll lose. Not only just this game but the season. It's just the 'ol Seattle Sports curse thing bogging me down, as unreasonable as that is. Everybody always gets their hopes up, only to have 'em come crashing down, time after time after time, year after year after year. I will never lose that feeling as long as I live after 30+ years of this crap. Until I see somebody wearing a Seahawks uniform hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, it will always be there... (And would probably STILL be there the year AFTER the hoisting!) If we actually DO win it this year, I will probably draw blood pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming...

Been a die hard for about 12 years now. Is that a long time? I'm nervous we will start slow and not be at top form to catch up. I firmly believe we should win, but I could see the hawks just not playing their best under the circumstances of this game.
