I've never really cared about the Taylor Swift stuff. Yeah, they show her a lot, but it's not like they're interviewing her between quarters and talking about her wardrobe during game action. For a billionaire popstar whose fame was largely bought, she seems surprisingly grounded, so whatever.

Kelce though... ugh. Both of them are insufferable attention whores. Glad the other one is retired at least. I doubt I'll watch much, if any, of this game, but I don't think I could handle having to hear them go on and on and on about both of them playing in this game.

Man, I just can't get into the hate/fatigue element. Yes, Travis and Swift is over the top, but Mahomes is a cool dude, much more likeable than Brady during his epic dynasty. Reid is a big teddy bear who seems very down to earth and chill. Before we know it, the Chiefs dynasty will be in the rear view mirror and we can move on to the next dynasty we will hate, lol.
There's a big difference between hate and fatigue, at least in my book. IMO hate is one of the most misused terms in the English language. There are very few people in this world of whom I truly hate. I apply the term more to inanimate objects than I do human beings, like hating spicy food.

And what's so bad about getting fatigued or tired of seeing someone? It happened to me with Russell and Pete. It occurs when personalities are over exposed and become redundant, and that's what's going on between myself and Mahomes, Reid, et al. It doesn't mean that I think that they're bad guys, to the contrary. I've heard a lot of very good things about both of them as I have with Pete and Russell. I just don't like having their mugs constantly being thrust in front of me.

As far as boycotting the Super Bowl goes, I think a person would have a lot bigger effect on the league if they went into a comment section of forums like this one and spill your guts there, participate in opinion polls, that sort of thing. They do monitor stuff like that. And your comments might inspire others to chime in.

Chiefs had help at least 3, maybe 4, times during the regular season at the end of the games. Likely they lose 2 if not 3, but for that help.

Which means they never would had home field without the help. (Not counting all the obvious penalties NFL refs overlooked on the Chiefs but called on their opponents.)

Weak refs tend to err on the side of the home crowd. The NFL knew what it was doing.

I don't hate the Chiefs. But I'm not going to bother w the SB.

I love football. But this isn't football anymore than WWE is wrestling. It's a farce. A performance, not a competition.

There's been so much blowback against the Chiefs that I'm wondering if the refs won't favor the Eagles j/b they don't want to have to experience all the grief that the past couple of crews went through. If you're into conspiracies, there's a good one for you. The league ordered that the Eagles win the game just to prove the conspiracy theorists wrong.

People thought that about the Bills game.

Nope.

The NFL wants Mahomes to be the next Tom Brady. And it will bend or break rules to do it.

They are desperately trying to recreate an Air Jordan type of 3peat mystique. But it doesn't work because viewers can see it too.

It won't matter. Football fans know it's a farce. But most SB viewers aren't football fans anyway. No reason for the NFL not to create a fake champion in this case.

Yeah, I'm sure they're in their 5th SB with Mahomes and have won 17 straight one score games because of the "refs" or that the "NFL wants them to win" etc. 🍿 🍺

Go Philly

Will there be a football game played tomorrow? Then yes, I’ll be watching. I’d watch a middle school football game on a dirt field if one was happening and I had the time to watch. Peel away all the hype, the pomp and circumstance, and everything happening around a game and the game itself is still football. It’s a beautiful game at any level. If you don’t get that I question whether you are even a fan of football.

Sure, most fans not of these two teams are tired of them. What would be the excitement of a Detroit/buffalo Super Bowl?! The Super Bowl is an event. It’s the biggest holiday we have in this country without it even being a holiday. If it were an actual holiday, it’d probably be right behind Christmas in popularity.

So go ahead and boycott or not watch or do something else because you don’t like the participants. The rest of us will be involved in a uniquely American experience and will probably get to see a good competitive game. Y’all do what you gotta do. I’ll be in my chair eating good food and watching an NFL football game that will be unavailable as an actual activity for another 6-7 months (depending on how you feel about preseason games or spring football).

Come Monday morning my full football attention turns to the offseason moves. Tomorrow I watch football. And that makes me happy.

I said I had no interest and probably wouldn't watch it on this thread in a previous post about a week or so ago.

Well, I got up early (my time) and watched the game at 6:30AM....

It was pretty evident early on that Philly was in the driver's seat and when it was (iirc) 24-0 in the second quarter I knew that was it.

I did watch the rest of the game.

Killing time.

I tuned into the last quarter. Didn't look i missed much.
I checked the score when I got home after bringing my kiddos back to Puyallup (from Quilcene) and the game was over

I shed tears and curled up into a ball. I missed the entire game and seventy commercials. Travesty.

Apparently the commercials were really bad. Just high profile celebs..

On the BBC news this morning, there was a clip of Taylor Swift, appearing to be asking if her taxi had arrived.
