You obviously hasn't run your opinion first by Ozz, or you would have learned that Geno is at best 20th, but more like 25th ranked in the league. The top 15th QB may be franchise-type, but there should be at least 5 if not 10 better than Geno QBs to pick from.
If you say so.....👌

I remember an extraordinary defense with Tez Walker in the 90's. That defense was elite.
We went 2-14 I believe it was. Rick Mirer I think was our QB st the time. Sunk our whole team. Just one player sunk that team.
GM's and teams pay QB's for a reason. They are the most important position on the team period.
Edit: might have been Dan Mcgwire. I can't remember now. Point is the QB has that much influence on the teams outcome.

It was actually the FEROCIOUS three headed monster of Kelly Stouffer, McGwire, and Stan Gelbaugh.

That is still the most unbalanced team ever recorded.

From Wiki:
The Seahawks' 140 points (8.8 points per game) scored in the regular season is the lowest total for any team playing a 16-game (minimum) season.

And

Seattle was so inept that from the first game of the season until their Week 13 overtime win over Denver, they collectively had fewer points scored than punts attempted; for the entire season, the team finished with only slightly more points than punts. The team failed to score more than 17 points in a single game.

I watched that debacle. Rough. They needed dirt bags!

Id be very surprised if Geno isn't our starter day 1 next season. Who else is out there that is gonna be better right now? Not saying Geno is a longterm answer because he isn't but the other options are slim to none...still think we gotta tank a year to get that top qb pick outta college whoever that may be...obviously not last name Manning as he'd never play here....and it seems this years crops are all Matt Barkley and Matt Lennart 2.0's.. .so why waste a pick on a qb this year???
I’d be surprised too. I think Seattle offers a slight bump and the only way Geno isn’t back is if he holds out and goes elsewhere. Hawkblogger said a lot of people close to the team are starting to sound like they don’t think he’s back.

Who were the 3 for 3?
1) Ozzy (2) ? (3) ?

Guess?
One of the three was me, I am not sure about signing Wilson this off-season. But I advocated for cutting Geno and Lockett, and signing Wilson last off-season, just so we can leverage the $1m/season, and use the savings to fill other holes. Needless to say, my thread about signing Wilson was one of my not-so-popular threads, along with trading Wilson (2020), starting Geno (2021), and trading Lockett (2022).

Well, he's going to want a lot of coin besides all the other headaches he brings.
Kudos for admitting you voted for him though.

Such a tough call because if you look at the landscape of the NFC there's a chance the Hawks could make a run next year. With that said, I honestly hope they move on from Geno. While I think he gives us the best chance in 2025 I'd rather spend that money on other needs, draft a young guy (preferably Jaxon Dart), and give the reins to Sam Howell for next year.

Yep. I remember that season well. I watched every game. It also sported the worst oline I have ever seen in all my years of watching football. And those QB's were constantly playing musical chairs because of injury. They were getting killed all season on top of being pretty bad QB's.

Gotta be, if not the worst, then one of the all time worst offenses in history. Could you imagine only scoring 140 points in 16 games?

Out of those options, if they can't come to terms with a Geno contract rework, I'd roll with Mariota on a relatively cheap 1 yr deal like he got last season.

I like Mariota as well. I think he can be decent in the right situation.

And at probably 1/3 or 1/4 the cost of geAVERAGE
He was $6 mil for 2024, probably less for 2025 as he is a year older. His ball velocity was 56 mph, like Wilson (55) and Geno (55). He was a bit faster at 4.52 sec 40 yards, Wilson 4.55, Geno 4.59.

BUT, he couldn't run circles like Wilson, nor enjoyed % like Geno.

If they do roll with Geno, I would hope the team can rework Geno's contract for 2025, but not at the expense of a contract extension. I guess they could do that if they give themselves an out. But it would still likely cause some dead money.

I'm not saying I want them to get Mariota. Just that it would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
