The QBOTF that Schneider drafts may not be ready in day 1, he will need a mentor, and we need a bridge for a year, maybe 2.

Which one?

Every quarterback in the league is a bridge quarterback. He plays until he does not. No highly productive quarterback is going to get benched. It is a nonsensical way to categorize them.

Just get the best QBOTF you can NOW. No more bridge QBs. And no you don’t need a $25m + QB as a mentor. You can hire a former high level QB as a QB coach.

Like it or not, Geno is getting about $45 mill next season. It's what starting QBs go for these days. 🤷‍♂️

Yes yes. We all know the game. Nice trolling though. No matter what name anybody would say you’d tear it down. Not my job. Why waste ANOTHER year without building the future QB.

”there are no good QBs in the draft” or “”JS is soooo good found RW and can find ThE ONE”

and

”lots of good QBs NEXT year” or “We will be decent next year and not be in a position to draft a SiNGLE damn one of them.”

be a damn leader. Don’t waste a year with Mid Geno and grab the best we can.

If there are so many available next year as you stated, who are they? Who'd be available to come in and do better than Geno. Not sure how asking that question is trolling? 🤷

Who cares if the QBOTF comes in NEXt year and is worse than Geno would have been? So what? We need to build a Play Off team and Geno is not the starting QB on a legit playoff team.

I appreciate we have sooooooo many fans here that only really care about the regular season. Good for you. Bet this was the best year for you.

The Chiefs went FIFTY years between Super Bowl appearances. For a team satisfies with slightly above average regular season success it looks like many here will be dead before we ever get close again.

At this point let Geno play out his contract and let him walk at the end of it. I don't think signing him to an extension makes much sense at current QB market rates. He's not worth it. What Geno Smith offers is a purgatory. He's good enough to keep you from being a losing team, not good enough to take you anywhere in the postseason, he's also now in his mid 30s.

Why waste another year with Geno instead of developing a young QB with a much higher ceiling? Why spend another year with absolutely no chance of postseason success while having a decent enough season to be out of the running for a top tier QB in the next draft? Some here are sooooo scared of taking a step back in order to be so much better long term.
