Seems he should be eligible soon. Hasn't it been 4 weeks yet?

I think his first missed game was the TNF Cardinals. So I think he’d be eligible to come back after the bye.

With such heavy emphasis on the running game and clearly our OL is the best it's been in recent years, I wonder why we are still struggling with that part of our offense? Is Kubiak's system that dependent on a full back to be effective? You would think between the one/two punch of K9 and Charbs and a pretty stout OL we would be gaining more yards on the ground than we are.

X's and O's gurus, please pick up the white courtesy phone.

I'm not an X and O (hug and kiss) kind of guy...well, actually I am. But that's nothing to do with football.

I think the offensive line still has a way to go to get familiar with each other, and with the blocking scheme, but IMHO, a bruising FB covers up for a lot of blemishes.

Those redzone rushing attempts, one of those probably gets through if Outz was out there lead blocking. Brady Russell is ok as a backup, but he doesn't have the same power.

Plus Outz can catch the ball in and out of the backfield. Hopefully he comes back soon.

Yeah, it's week 7 now and time for them to start jelling together as a unit. Health is holding up (knock wood) so I'm looking for real improvement in the next week or so.

I'm not saying he's the magic elixir to solve our anemic running game but man, he's missed.

Hopefully he gets back soon.
well according so some Youtube pateron peddling turd (Topballing aka MUrph) he thinks we're delusional to think robbie outz being out i that big of an impact and blames out IOL even though Outz as FB Definitely helps. I wasnt going to go back and forth with the dick weed.

I read recently that Kubiak is running a lot of heavier sets (TEs and such) in an attempt to force more single safety looks by defenses, which they're doing. We've faced a LOT of light safety looks this year and Darnold and JSN have been exploiting that ridiculously, as we all know. A downside is that this simultaneously means more base defense and more linebackers on the field, which can make things harder for the run.

I think that’s cause our emphasis on the run is well known, so we have hard running. But we take advantage of what the defense gives us and we gash them eventually with pa or even the run. We’re doing good. Last week we played bad and still won, that’s good. We have had so many things mess up our momentum in games like penalties and weird play calls, but in between we are really effective. Just gotta get smoother. But as far as Ouzts, we all saw his demoralizing blocks and eventually he is gonna catch a pass and destroy some little safety and it’s gonna be awesome! But I think he draws attention, and that impacts games

Kubiak is a product of the Shanahan system that requires its fullback be a utility player like Jusczcyk, with whom rushing is the least of the priorities.

Surprised Russell didn't get more run.

Ouzts would definitely have a positive effect on our running game. Seems like a lot of folks are downgrading our running backs when the fact is they are not actually the ones deserving the blame.
I was thinking this exact thought during the last game. Need his thunder in the second half of the season.

Yeah, I think it's the overall team when it comes to the run game. But I have hope.

Remember last year, when our D was learning to play for Mac and in his system and to his style, and how it took a few weeks? After mid season or so, they really blossomed and put up some great defensive stats and won some games for us.

I see our offense as in a similar boat. We're 6 weeks in. Hope it's time to start putting it all together under fire, so to speak, and showing some real improvement in the running game.

Our inside zone runs suck. That's a communication / assignment thing. Outside zone, when things are spread out and you effectively eliminate 1/3rd of the potential defenders on a play, things are a bit more straightforward. Plus, on either end, we are running behind either Lucas or Cross plus the added benefit of good blocking from Kupp and our TEs depending on formation.
The tighter the runs, the more complicated things get. Last week, Cross and Lucas graded out well. Zabel and Sundell really struggled. Bradford was averagish.

Bradford is the weak link of the line period.

Ballin with Sam makes a huge difference. He is so decisive that it enables the online to win. OUTZS is apart of our identity we are working towards. More time. I struggle with some of Kubiaks decisions where alot plays are going for loss. Yet our offense can be so good.
