Kept the thread title under 10 words to those who like to self check me as you should! Lead by example! 🤣

The title is a touch hyperbolic maybe but this is more than just a game. The Rams already beat us once. The entire NFL world is going to be watching this game to see which one of these top heavyweight fighters will prove who deserves to be in the lead for both the division and #1 seed in the NFC.

I cannot impress upon you enough how upset I would be if Sam and our offense looked anemic once again, especially in prime time at home. I know our defense will be special but if we want the world to take us seriously this is the game for the offense to hold up their end of the bargain.

Another lame duck game by Sam would be catastrophic. Not for our playoff chances of course but the perpetual narrative that will never die until Sam can prove to everyone that he can be a cold blooded killer against the biggest opponents in the biggest lights.

Don’t let us down offense. BRING IT!!

Totally unanimous with you, Aros! I shall be watching it in replay on the streaming, as their constant self-advertising is absolutely relentless, and I zap them all! The game starts at 11:45AM Friday here, so it will be mid-arvo before I watch it: thus keeping off Seahawks.net before it starts!

I've got a Zoom meetup with some friends who I've known by email for almost 30 years tomorrow (most of them in America), so I'll be asking them to NOT mention the game. Most of them aren't even football fans, anyway!

Thread title hyperbolic...ism..ness or not, what you say is simply true, IMHO. If Sam/KLINT/Offense can't get up for a Thursday nighter @ the crib, against Mcvey and Punkass Nakua's lamb's 'nem, for the chance to win the div and get a Rd1 bye then who WILL YOU get up against, and when?

Go Hawks!

Had to Google "mid-arvo". I really need to get my ass 'down unda' to kick it (be scared shitless of) with some kangaroos and pretty Australian women before I hit 50! I saw recent bts footage of Kendrick Lamar's final tour date in Sydney and y'all got some certified JOINTS down there! 😮

As I’ve said in another thread, if the Seahawks win today, San Francisco becomes a very dangerous team to win the division as Seattle needs to go to San Francisco the last game of the year. The odds on San Francisco winning the division as they stand at this moment are 6.5–1. One of the best longshot odds I’ve seen in years!

My worry is that Sam will 💩 the bed, and we’ll then fully understand why he’s a Seahawk and not a Viking.

My prayer is that he will shine like a star.

As clearly stated elsewhere, I’m nervous AF over this game.

As I pecked this out on my phone it dawned on me why I’m as stressed as I am.
I’m worried we might find out why Sam was available, it’s not all about the W.

Hopefully the plan is to keep Sam’s confidence up and his head in the game with play calls that will allow him to be successful.

I envision the Rams bringing tons of pressure, and that worries me.

their first issue is the Bears however. I'm not prepared to give them that one automatically. We would still need to put them down in the final game of the season if they win that one.

9ers are not to be taken lightly in the least but let’s be clear: Our TRUE nemesis is the Rams. That beast must be slayed. Then we can deal with those pesky 9ers.
9ers don’t have a cake walk the rest of the way either.
Hopefully they p/u another L before we see them.

Before I get crucified I just want to point out that I want and believe the Hawks can win. Saying that, I don't think they will (please be wrong). I think the Rams win another hard fought battle and the NFL world starts to see who Seattle really is. They are a good team thats a year or so away. That's my take anyways. Let the berating begin.

A second loss to the Rams and the pretender label is going to be brought up. If Darnold implodes like the last game there will be no recovery imo. I this is a find out who we are game. Seahawks need to win this!

McVay has much more experience v Seahawks than Macdonald v Rams. McVay has also found some of Sam's tendencies as far back as pre-Seahawks. I think we can say the Seahawks, as a whole: both O and D, are more talented. Macdonald and staff need to out-coach McVay to win this game. Sam can't win it alone. He needs to be consistently put in winnable plays. If he's left to make the best of difficult situations, McVay has shown he can induce turnovers.

To me, we know who Sam is. He can get hot or cold but he's not going to carry the team. Macdonald is still growing as a headcoach (sometimes we forget this is only year 2) and Kubiak is still growing as an OC. Let's hope those 2 have grown enough to put together a gameplan where a middling OLine and reasonably good QB can put up just enough points to rely on a stifling D.

So when you say to other teams: this is your Super Bowl!

You mean it as a dig to them, as in playing YOU is their highest achievement for the year.

Are you saying playing the Rams and this game is Hawks highest achievement on the year?

I think the recent slow offensive starts are Kubiak more than Darnold. We need to be aggressive on offense to win tonight, the Rams saw how much they sputtered against our defense last time and will surely be trying some different things this time; I suspect our defense will not hold them as well as we'd like tonight, but I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong.
