As someone who thinks the Seahawks are creating magic again in the draft. There's a definitive pattern here and if you read between the lines, or hell, don't even read between the lines and listen to what John Schneider and Mike are saying;

"(The player drafted) is a Seahawk".

No, that's not meant as a literal, obvious fact. It's to say that they have a method, a mindset, a culture-driven paradigm where the template that they have built is quite focused on not only player talent but character, fit and form to what has been built here. Fans can poo-poo all they want, but what I see right now is yet another draft where the players we pick outperform the initial expectations of the national media.

Watch our C or B grade in a few weeks turn into an A in a couple years.

It's kind of our happy place.

I have to admit, AROS.

I wanted Dunker and was bummed (and a bit annoyed) that we didn't get him but the decision to trade down to 99 from 96 (which was taken by the Steelers who drafted Dunker) told me that JS/MM weren't as enamored with him as some here (me included) were.

Still, in JS and MM I trust.

They know a hell of a lot more than some rando NET poster like me so....Let's gooo!

It’s impossible to keep up with player rankings each year. Each draft, the national media and ‘experts’ will tag select groups of players and give teams a horrible grade if Player Xx was available but a team picked Player Yy.

After awhile, you begin to understand that the draft is A. A literal crapshoot and B. If you ride the hype train, pick after pick, you’re looking way too hard at the player and not the team.

With what started off as four picks, we just came away with two day one starters (just my opinion). We filled what we lost - that shouldn’t be taken lightly. We just got better.

Definition of better? Just cost savings because of rookie contracts? Guys that have potential? Depth? Of course..every team acquires that from each draft.

When I say better, I’m talking about performance. Performance now. How many teams can say that after winning a Super Bowl?
