Does Wilson's style of play make the offensive line less important? His mobility and ability to throw on the run have me less concerned than if we had a more traditional pocket passer.

I think our defense keeps them in check and I see another Carolina type game with us winning an ugly one.

Sorry, but I see alot of JJ Watt sacks in this game, even if its RW at QB. None of our backs pick up blitzers very well. Expect a more conservative game plan, ala max protect 2 TE sets.

I could envision 3 TEs and it's just run run run. Only passes are short play action. Let the D and ST do their thing. We can't let RW try to do it all with a very good D line. I see it as a low scoring game , Houston is terrible in the red zone.

The D and ST will have to keep us in very good field position AND the D will prolly have to produce some points for the Hawks to have a chance.

I remember hearing about Carolinas offensive line woes and thinking "we are going to eat their lunch." Instead they ran the ball down our throat. I can t think of a better time to focus on the running game.

This to me is a blind statement:

Seahawks D-Line is much different than it was in the FIRST game of the season.

Avril and Clemons didn't play. We know Clemons is a plus defender against the rush and Avril has surprisingly played well against the rush in the Raheem Brock role. He has the power, size, and strength to hold up against the point attack as long as their are other players around him. Most players rushing in the Wide 9 are going to get abused if the back 7 aren't good and the Seahawks arguably have the best back 7 in the NFL.

McDonald wasn't on the team. The guy has been a beast. McDonald probably would have made the initial roster had his price been right but the Seahawks took a chance, wait a week, his price went down from $1.3 mil guaranteed to $650,000.

Brandon Mebane + Tony McDaniel, two key components in our Run Defense, were both hobbled with Groin injuries.

Browner also wasn't available, and while he's only decent in coverage, he's one of the biggest play-makers in the NFL, one of the most physical players in any Secondary, and his run defense is on par with a small but dominant WLB, and that's a big, compliment for a CB.

Not to mention Seahawks have been blowing up most RBs other than D-Will in that first game.

Look at his season so far, he's been a pretty decent RB:

Vs Seahawks @ Car: 17 for 86, 5.1 YPC, LONG: 16, 0 TDs, 2 Fumbles/1 Lost
Vs Bills @ Buffalo: 22 for 85, 3.9 YPC, LONG: 21, 0 TDs, 0 Fumbles
Vs Giants @ Car: 23 for 120, 5.2 YPC, LONG: 27, 0 TDs, 0 Fumbles

Despite allowing that 5.1 YPC in that first game, Seahawks have held Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter, Maurice Jones-Drew, and Justin Forsett in check to put up a non-QB ypc average of 2.9 heading into Houston.

Matt Schaub doesn't scare anybody with his legs, Seahawks D gets a chance to attack the pocket relentlessly without having to worry about containment. With nearly everyone healthy and available on the D side, I expect to see the Seahawks put up their best all-around performance yet.

you can talk about how great our D is going to be all you want- fact remains- you don't win games in this league when 3 of your starting 5 OL are out

3-1 is not too bad a start

let's just hope these guys get healthy by next week

Why are these guys suddenly so brittle?

They are 300 pound people fighting, hitting falling on 300 pound people. Its bound to happen.
It's occurring at a higher rate than usual.

The news doesn't seem to affect the pundits or the line any so I figure either Houston is a mess, or Wilson will deal or some combination therein and we win ugly. Business as usual it seems.

How about we just let the game play out. We have some depth this year, and they will get their chance to show why they made the 53.

GO HAWKS!

depth or not, teams overcome injuries, having a defeatist attitude is stupid. Is it concerning? YES. Does it have an affect on the game? YES. Does it automatically mean they won't win, NO. And I will not be making injury excuses if we lose

Expect a lot of bad snaps.

Even more than we have already seen from Unger?
yeah, I actually expect an improvement in terms of snaps. Unger has been very low with his snaps

You do know we have the number 1 defense in the league? Healthy? And adding it's final pieces quickly. Also having a mobile quarterback that can actually run a full NFL offense (unlike Kapperdink with that simple half field one read exhibition vs. the Lambs yesterday) and a run game with superior special teams?

I swear to God if Bradford was half what Schaub is the Ninners lose, and Schaub isn't even half of Cam Newton. He is deadmeat. It's going to be ugly given he can't scramble.

Have some faith that Wilson is elite and makes everyone around him better and that our coaches are just as good as New England (or Atlanta last year) and understand how to scheme to cover weaknesses.

I am just thinking of the fear this will put into the rest of the league (should we win).

Anyone know the projected return date of Unger and Breno?

I understand the angst of several posters in here. We are on a roll that nobody north of Portland wants to see end. But let's not forget, a perfect season hasn't happened since 72 and our objective is to win the title. We won't lose the SB in Houston.

Stress over this game only if it's enjoyable for you to do so and screw the posters that want to tell you how you should feel. I can never get my head around why so many want everyone else to think exactly the same thoughts. That would just be boring and lame.

I heard Condotta speculate on this on KJR. He said Ungar's doesn't seem too bad, and should be a 1 week deal. Breno's could be for a few weeks, hope he's wrong
