Based on his history with concussions, and now you have another one tonight versus the bills, they almost have to sit him out for the game against the Seahawks. Frankly, he should’ve really retired after the last go around a few years ago because this young man is doing major damage to his brain that he will deal with for the rest of his life.

Yep, this is being discussed in the game day forum too. Of course, some idiots will say it's a mini bye for Miami so Tua should be good to go for Seattle. That would be asinine given his concussion history.

Tua has had too many concussions…I wouldn’t blame him if this was his last season in the NFL…heck, tonight’s game against the Bills, if it was his last game, ever, I wouldn’t blame him either.

Football is football. Tua and his brain is 10/10 times more important than his NFL career.

He should retire immediately and I don’t think anyone would hold it against him.

I agree with multiple posters here. I cringed and felt awful for Tua when I saw what happened. He needs to seriously evaluate his life and next choice that he makes. I hope the best for him but after this recent concussion, he really should retire.

Who is the dolphins back up? I didn't think tua played well before the concussion but we also now have no film on the backup.

Hope tua is okay. Might be time to think about long term health. You have the guaranteed money there

Skyler Thompson but they actually may sign Tanneyhill this week

I used to feel this way about Romo with the Cowgirls, and that was just his back. It amazed me to see Jones and Garrett march him onto the field, injury after injury.

This is next level stuff.

I'm more worried about Tua's health overall than him facing us, he needs to retire, he's set for life financially

The question is why is he getting all of these concussions in the first place when other qb's don't. Is he being reckless and taking unnecessary hits or is it the normal hits that qb's take that are taking him out? Most qb's are pretty good at taking things to the limit but stopping short of getting themselves hurt, like perfecting run and slide so they don't get destroyed. Is he sacrificing his body for 1st downs?

Using last night's game, I saw him lead and lower his helmet into Damar.
I don't think he's too bright to begin with, playing with a body that cannot
take much in a game that exposes weakness.
How many concussions does one need to get before it's over?

Dude should be done, he'll be a vegetable by the time he's retired (at this rate).

I've wondered that, too. Are there certain attributes in the brain that would lend a person to being more susceptible to concussions, and if so, can they be identified prior to an athlete engaging in the sport?

I don't see that Tua's style of play is that different from any other quarterback. As a matter of fact, quarterbacks should be less susceptible to concussions as they are not as subject to high impact collisions like a wide receiver or cornerback would.

So maybe I should ask our resident doctor for an opinion. What's your take, @bigskydoc? Is it possible that there is something different in Tua's anatomy that makes him more subject to concussions?

Yeah unfortunately it was all his fault. I'll be shocked if he plays against us. I hope they give him a month off to re-evaluate everything and I hope people around him are telling him to retire. It's too bad because he's a good football player but its jut not worth it.

This was the first time Tua got one from not sliding while he was running. On the other 3 pretty sure he was in the pocket and his head hit the turf when he landed. My only thoughts on Skylar Thomson was the Dolphins came close to beating the Bills in the playoffs with him 2 yrs ago but on some stuff I heard this morning he had a bad camp this year.

From what I am reading, i don't think they will have Armstead at LT next week either.

Once you've had a concussion, you're more likely to get one on subsequent hits.
