Departed San Francisco 49ers CB Ambry Thomas took a dig at the front office of his former brass Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch.

Thomas was released in December 2024 and he nearly joined the Indianapolis Colts but failed the physical.

Thomas signed with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.

Not shocked, Cali sucks (especially the bay area).

Don't get me started on the football team down there either, pure ass.

Ambry Thomas is bitter because he never lived up to expectations despite being given multiple opportunities. He was outplayed by Lenior who was drafted in the lower rounds in the same draft as him and replaced by Renardo Green

We've seen this same story. Rosters get old, injured, stale, and expensive. Windows only last for a couple of years, then there is some inevitable sniping as it comes apart.

I’ve always wondered if the high cost of living in the bay area actually does deter prospective players. The problem is their wealth comes from income. Income can’t be shelled like investment wealth. Let’s look at the bay for typical NFL’er

37% federal plus
6% OASI plus
12.3% State Income Tax plus
1.2 California dissiabilty manadatory premiums. Plus
1.17% annual property tax plus
8.625% Sales tax plus
(One of the) Highest real estate costs in the nation. Plus
Highest gas prices in the nation plus…
Some of the highest vehicle and toll road bridge and transportation costs in the nation.
Food and commodity level prices are higher than average..
All this above unions dues and agent commissions.

I’m sure there is more , but the point stands.

If you know you are an average Joe with a finite time period to build wealth in the league as a guard or ST player., I’d certainly stay the hell away from the Bay Area unless I had a Mega contract.

49ers are in very good shape in this upcoming season. People are really sleeping on them but Vegas isn't sleeping on them though.

Which position group do you think is a strength? QB, kind of?

QB an DB for sure.

I would throw in RB and TE as well.

WR has a bit of question marks with Aiyuk's future, Pearsall has to prove himself and to see if Gage returns to form. But they did sign Robinson but we will see. My feeling is that the 49ers will draft another WR or two. But they will focus on the trenches and maybe try to upgrade the DB room too.
