One thing I noticed this past week...the grass in Houston had clearly just been redone but I didn't see any uproar.

Guess its selective.

Yeah, selective in that we are in the same division and our team has to play on that crap grass, which the 49ers organization hasn't been able to get right for the 2nd year in a row.

NINEster":2s5w4qhq said:
Levi's is like field turf compared to Candlestick esp in the playoffs.
When? At present, or a year ago when they "pinpointed the cause of the field's recent problems" and decided the solution was to revert to the kind of grass they had at Candlestick?

NINEster":2s5w4qhq said:
Hard to take the rivalry serious when every aspect of the franchise is nitpicked .
Hahaha... Do you honestly take the rivalry less seriously because Seahawks fans get a chuckle out of the fact that the people running your team's billion-dollar stadium can't get the grass right? When your starting QB's silver lining is that the field isn't as bad as some little league fields, that's pricelessly funny. That's gold, Jerry! GOLD!

And as a reminder, you are choosing to participate in a multi-page thread specifically devoted to the problems of your team. If your expectation is for us to avoid discussing how the 49ers troubles have permeated the entire operation, from the front office, coaches, all-time great players, young promising players, legal woes, to the very playing surface, you are in the wrong place. And "nit-picking" suggests we are seeking out tiny, tiny issues. We are not. These are all headline-making, substantive problems and you know this.

Also, there appears to be no end to the field malady. The plan is for the field to "be replaced as needed during the season." That should bother you way more than it bothers us. If it doesn't yet, it will when and if it causes injury to a 49er. "Last year, the 49ers' brand-new Levi's Stadium had a problem with its turf -- chunks of grass and dirt so large and uneven that players were at risk of rolling ankles and suffering injuries." And from that same article, "Meanwhile, there's concern that the turf has actually gotten worse from 2014."

Tomsula said they canceled practice there when the field fell apart after day 1 because they weren't going to put the players at risk. Your team's ongoing problems and lack of solutions is the cause of the lackluster rivalry, not Seahawks fans picking on every aspect of the 49ers franchise.

NINEster":2s5w4qhq said:
The Giants' fans hate the 49ers just as much but don't resort to much outside of Harbaugh and the rivalry hate.
What are you inferring? Or is it implying? Are you saying Giants fans have shown restraint and Seahawks fans are stooping to unfair or unsportsmanlike levels of rival-fan taunting? Eyeroll.

In the past months I've seen way more sympathy on this site for 9er fans than we'll ever see on a 9ers board for Seahawks fans. Truth is, most of us here wouldn't wish all these disasters on any team's fans, but it is happening and while it is we are going to get a kick out of it.

We don't even have to get our popcorn ready. The popcorn machine has been cranking continually since the Harbs/York debacle found its way into the media this past season and the laughable, subsequent attempts to tell the public there was nothing to see there.

Today's Golden Nugget ................................................

“Well, we’re going to go up there and we’re going to go over to the stadium once we get there before we go over to the hotel and have a little bit of a walk-through and we’ll take a peek at it,” coach Jason Garrett said, via the Sacramento Bee. “

Levi'sSod

There seems to be little confidence in Jed on this subject. The saga continues >>> [urltargetblank]http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/21/cowboys-concerned-about-levis-stadium-grass/[/urltargetblank]

Niners are still a good team. They just play in the strongest division is football. And yeah, I say we are still the strongest. You could make strong cases for the NFC and AFC North divisions but I think we are still better from top to bottom. Interesting we play both divisions this year. Gonna be some serious dog fights.

My earliest concern is Pittsberg win week 3. Antonio Brown, Ben's pump fakes, and Jenkins over playing is a disaster waiting to happen. Janoris better not even take his eyes off Brown.

JJ needs to reined in. Contract year for him.

Obviously as I Niner fan I want them to do well...

...but I have to admit that even if I weren't a Niner fan I'd want to see them do well just because of the way posters on this site even treat the notion that its possible. I'd love to see that crow eating and denials.

No, because if you weren't a Niner fan you would be right beside us enjoying the view.

i know this thread is still relevant when marvin still comes here to attempt to pacify us with his futile attempts of downplaying and/or digression

these statments are laughable considering the offseason your "class act" organization has had... and you are way too obsessive to be considered normal. of all things to wish for you are dreaming specifically about other's demise, but yeah, you are entitled to your ignorance. this thread has real traction as you finished 8-8 last season, and had a "great" off-season thus far. im sure losing harbaugh, fangio, justin smith, willis, borland, alldone smith, culliver, your balls, iupati, anthony davis, gore, etc etc etc etc has taken a toll. im sure the guys on webzone wont allow any type of realistic comments or realistic projections, but that is certainly allowed here. take a stab! what record will your beloved 49ers finish with marvin? of course being non-committal is the easy way out

and... what does that mean, do well lol. im sure the 49ers will go 6-10 maybe have 1-2 cute wins and you will paint that as a success. if u post something, try to be real. when u suck, u suck.

Yes we've had huge changes and God knows a terrible offseason but I think you're in for a shocking regular season for two reasons, #1 the 49ers will do better than expected and #2 and the biggest shock to you will be how your precious Hawks end up.

Say what you want "it's only preseason", etc. etc. but so far the Hawks look like Rover's ass. Hope you like fowl.

Only fans of teams that haven't won a Lombardi this century (ie Cowboys, niners) put stock in preseason wins and losses.

another gray statement, but let me read between the lines... i think you are implying that they are expected to be trash? so being "better" than trash is what? name the record! too afraid to make a prediction? lmao

dont be so sure, kiddo. im thinking we go 10-6 with the way our oline is setup and since we have a very formidable schedule. we are still a good team, and will vie with the cards for supremacy of the divsion. so if im gonna be "shocked its if we go 8-8 like your sorry team of scrubs did last season or if we go better than 11 wins

i dont think you realize how little talent is on your roster atm, nobody even wants to play on that team any more. willis even asked baalke to add talent and baalke, well, balked and let willis walk out the door. and lets even see how gimpy navarro bowleg plays before you can even count on him. have fun battling with the rams for last place

Years of exposure to Rams football has clearly deadened your pallette.

I didn't say they had a great team, they're good. But good is well under the standard of this division. They still have some players on both sides of the ball. Any given Sunday, ya know. Austin Davis proves that. He may not even make the team this year because Keenum is getting a lot of praise.

The Niners pass rush has been gutted. And their secondary isn't so good that all the extra blitzing they will need to do just to manufacture some pressure, it will be able to compensate down the field.

So defensively, they are very likely to take a huge step backwards. I did get a pretty big kick out of Tomsula on Siruis the other day, who was touting his confidence that they would be very good without the Smiths. I know, he has to say that, but if it were possible to compare his inner monologue at that moment with his outer speech, I bet it would be pretty damn funny. I feel a bit bad for Tomsula, he has to dance however Baalke pulls the strings, but not so bad that I won't point and laugh.

On offense, it will still come down to the line. I really liked the Center out of USC they got last year, but he wasn't ready for NFL strength. I know they have some new dangerous passing toys, but if Kaep is throwing off his back foot they threw that Torrey money down the drain. And their running backs look like a mediocre group to me. I have no idea what to make of Geep Chryst yet. WIll he turn Kaep loose? Will he try to mold a guy who is best when he is improvising?

I think we will see them beat up on some bad teams this year, teams that lack defensive speed, and get beat up by teams with defensive speed. They will be especially vulnerable to teams that can protect a QB, and to teams that can get after a QB with ease.

vs 670 pages of "shit talking about the Hawks" thread over on the Denialzone.
My math may be off but last time I checked 670 is A LOT more than 13. :)

I agree with your last statement though even though your niner brothers here disagree with it. 8)

Not to defend because we both obviously spend a lot of time talking about each others team, but the post count per page is much higher here.

And most of the time the thread is renamed and continues on where here its thread after thread. If you total up all the post I think it's pretty even.
