I hate how close the NFC West is this year

I love it, I love the competitiveness of this division... I mean we could be the Tom Brady Patriots and win every year because the other 3 teams where a dumpster fire, no thanks..

If we win this division that means we absolutely earned it, not just given to us because of weak competition within the division...

What sucks even more than being in the only division containing three bona fide juggernauts is watching certain teams in other divisions have wins handed to them on silver platters since the other teams in their divisions are made up of Pee Wee Hermans. But I sometimes look at being part of the NFC West as a cool thing: we are from that foreboding powerhouse division that all others fear.
7-9 hawks beat defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans in stunning first round victory!!!

With Purdy Pickfest, I'm not worried.
The defense would be the bigger issue for the 49ers. It was always going to be a work in progress with the loss of Hufuanga, greenlaw and Mooney ward, but when Bosa, Warner and now Mykel Williams went out the defense is the bottom of the league

They also have a ridiculously easy schedule.
Ok , this was the case preseason but not in season.

They face the Seahawks and Rams twice. The AFC south is a lot harder than expected with the Colts, Texans and Jags all having winning records. 49ers NFC north opponent is the Bears (9-3) where as the Seahawks is the Vikings (4-7). 49ers AFC north opponent is the Browns (3-8) where as the Seahawks was the Steelers (6-5). The only other non common opponent was the NFC east . The Seahawks faced the Commanders (3-8) where as the 49ers the Giants (2-10) .

If any team should be complaining about easier schedules it would be the Rams who faced the Lions (7-5) in the NFC north , the Eagles (8-4) in the NFC east, and the ravens (6-6) in the NFC North. Seahawks and 49ers schedules are pretty equal

The Niners paid their stars and sacrificed depth trying to keep their window open. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. The highpoint of your season may be the week 1 W that may prevent us from winning the division.

Iron sharpens iron though and I think that early season loss where we got outmuscled and didn't play a full 60 minutes showed our young guys that they had not 'arrived' and there was still a lot of work to do.

I'm not ruling out any of the 3 teams. I could see the Rams losing in Seattle and then the Seahawks losing in San Francisco. I think the Rams are the best team but I don't see them running the table.

Slightly off-topic but if you had told me after the 2024 Week 17 games that the Seahawks and Bears would be contending for the top 2 seeds in the NFC in 2025 I would have thought you were insane. Congrats to both teams.

I'm still not ever going to go back and watch that 2024 game again though. That was a crime against football.

Can we not have our flowers without the damn Rams and 9ers in our way?

As of Sunday night I assume the division will look like this:

Rams 10-2
Seahawks 9-3
49ers 9-4
Cardinals (whatever who cares)

What in the holy mother of baby Jesus is happening here?!?

How in the world is the 9ers and their depleted team winning?!? Must have sold their souls to the devil I guess.

Rams? Old Man Rivers just keeps plugging away, to the detriment of our chances to win the division. McVay is way more the nemesis than Harbaugh ever was.

So sick of these teams. Can they not die a good movie monster death already?

Grrrr.
Actually, I'm the exact opposite. I want to beat the best at their peak then there are no excuses. I don't want some jackwagon coming along saying that we won our division because it was weak.

I remember the leadup to SB 49 and the Deflate Gate scandal that threatened to sideline Tom Brady. I wanted Brady to play because if we had won, everyone and their dog would say that it was because the GOAT didn't play.

So bring it on! Give me your best shot!

I prefer it. I think between the Rams and 49ers they usually bring their A game when playing us. We’ve played poorly against both teams. Not all was Darnold tho the Rams game was but I like our balance and depth especially defensively. Hawks will beat the Rams and 49ers, finish 4-2 in division like everyone else. The Hawks and Rams have a top 5 defense, the 49ers do not. Offensively obviously the 49ers lag far behind but they stay in games by hoarding the ball and nickel dink and dunk plays to McCaffrey. They employ, slow time consuming drives if you let em. Thank God the quarterback stinks like shit. Hawks by 40 in the rematch but one game at a time. We’re packing some Viking backside tomorrow folks. 200
