Rob (Largent80), I think I speak for most of us here in saying this to you regarding your Bold Prediction of a Seahawks win tonight .... ;)

I said I would rub everyone's face in it, but I don't have to, the Seahawks did it for me....... :179417: :179417: :179417:

I honestly don't get how people quit on your team. I think the prepare for losses is weak. Who cares really. I can't stand most of what is on the board these days. Flame away. I won't be coming back to read. I'll refer to this as a quiters thread.

Seriously? [Roll Eyes] To this, I'll say exactly what I said in Aros's thread ...

So, we can't take our homer glasses off for a second and make reasonable predictions based upon actual observed evidence? I'm extremely glad that my logic and reason turned out to be flawed in this instance, but good grief man. Anyone who's ever met me in real life will tell you that I'm one of the biggest Seahawks fans around -- period. Any one of my friends, acquaintances, or colleagues will tell you that. In general, I put far more stock in those who try to be objective ... than in those who always see things through rose colored glasses. I'm very, very happy to have been wrong ... and have absolutely ZERO problems admitting that. I'm not Fonzie whatsoever. I'm somehow a quitter now? Puulllleeeze.

Checking in. Thought we would get smoked, but was happy with the final outcome.

I gots me taters and a salad with my crow. I happen to get a superhappy meal with my crow and a Scuzzy Light to wash it down. Never underestimate our team again.

I also think it was the loss to N.O. that may have given us the opportunity to win this game. I forgot to do Aros thread due to issues of Cro magnon proportions....or is it Crow magnon....??? he he he...

Go Hawks.

This was an easy game to chalk up a loss before the game. However, the previous weeks battles prepared them for it. They overcame the crowd, refs, and the Cheaters. It's an awesome day to be a Seahawk fan.

For someone who doesn't give up on his team he sure seems to quit things pretty easy. We should expect this with bandwagon fans. Those who have been around since the beginning have had a lot of hard lean years. Not every game is a expected win but we are pleasantly surprised when they do.

I guess Cleveland doesn't have any real fans. Because I don't think anyone expects them to win. Even there own fans. I am sure they hope they win but expect to...no way.

BTW does anyone think he is not actually going to read this thread after dropping flame bait like that????

Love my team, but I don't make predictions based on that emotion. If that's 'giving up' to you, great, have fun with that.

That said, serve me up a plate of that crow!! I predicted the Hawks would lose by 15 points, and it almost became the reverse of that. Great job, Pete Carroll and co. I'm pretty set in my ways of predicting based upon previous performances during the same season. Pete normally proves me wrong with the second-half-of-season critical mass thing that I never fully count on. I thought that phenomenon had fully derailed when the D regressed to crap after the loss of Bennett. Great to see them pull it together just enough. The 3 and outs against Brady, though they were few, were encouraging. Still very anxious for Bennett to get back, as we'll need him to make a credible run. Tired of all of the last second wins where we are depending upon something to roll our way, as was the unlikelihood of anyone successfully defending against Gronk in the end zone. :les:

Only one question...

How did I become one of the few to predict a win here and then get it right???

I can understand why people would be worried going INTO NE and expecting a loss. It's a lot easier on those fans who "expect the worst, but hope for the best". I mean, if you expect a loss, it won't be as tough to accept if it ends up happening, but when you expect a loss and your team comes out like the Seahawks did last night to pull off the win, the victory feels so much more gratifying IMO. It's a safe way to view the games, while keeping the negative emotion that tends to pierce it's way through the veil in check.

Not going to lie, I expected a loss too, but by very little in a close game that slipped through our fingers somehow. So very thankful to have been incorrect and due to living in a "recreational" state, eating crow would be easier to handle :2thumbs:

I must admit, I predicted a loss and I'm absolutely ecstatic about such an incredible win last night. To win in one of the most difficult places to play, on a short week and cross country travel against arguably the best team in the league up to this point is nothing short of remarkable.

Maybe our best overall win in a couple years. I'm so excited for the rest of the season now!

I am eating crow. It tastes damned good too. I was so wrong about this team and I am happy to admit it. :irishdrinkers:

I picked the Pats in my pool.

I use the whole "if the Pats win, it's good for my pool, if the Hawks win, it's great for my team. Either way I come out feeling somewhat good about it.
