Serious question...anyone think Felix should call it a career after this season? It's safe to say his decline started last year.

Whose responsibility is it to plug the Ms bats back in the recharging station after the road trip?! They're completely out of juice right now!

What has happened to the bats? Haven't scored a run in our last 16 innings.

A win would be nice as Baltimore, NY and Detroit has lost. Toronto is currently down by 1.

Didn't lose any ground though. A sweep of Toronto is pretty much required now.

Changing topics, i really think MLB should realign the divisions. Have them like the NFL where it's teams within your area. AL west should be Mariners, A's, Angels, Padres, Dodgers (or Arizona). Then have Texas and Houston in a separate division. Houston owns the M's. Plus it's less travel for the teams.

The pit
That Cano AB in the eighth was the ballgame.

Man on 2nd, 1 out and he swings at two pitches in the dirt that almost hit him in the front foot,
It was one of the worst AB's I've seen a "superstar" have with the game on the line in a long time. He swung at, at least 4 balls fouling off a couple in that AB. The pitcher just gave up 2 hits and one run, and is in trouble with the tying run on 2nd.
A patient AB = runners on 1st and 2nd with one out with Cruz coming up.

By Cano up there with his mind made up he is swinging at anything regardless if it's a strike turned it into a piss poor AB and killed the inning.

The pitcher was on the ropes, you don't help him out by swing a crap in the dirt.

Yeah there are times when a batter doesn't swing at a pitch that is barely a ball and I'm impressed by the batter's poise and restraint to get the ball call. And then there are head-scratching, almost bizarre swings like Cano's in the 8th. Maddening, as it was an important game against the perpetual monkey-on-your-back team that the Ms desperately need to give the heave-ho sooner rather than later.

Love the realignment idea with the Dodgers and Padres rather than the Astros and Rangers.

Looks like we won today, not that anyone watched. Just proves how much of a football town Seattle is. A week 2 game in the NFL trumps a pivotal regular season MLB game.

If we do make the playoffs, and play on a Sunday, I wonder how many fans would watch the M's instead of the Seahawks. I'd definitely be flipping between both games, but if I had to choose only one game......not sure.

I watched most of the M's game. A bit of channel flipping, sure - but the Mariners' game was far more important / had more current implication.

Very impressed with Ariel Miranda thus far, through 5 starts. Felix's past month or so, on the other hand, is very worrisome.

Agreed. He's really peaking at the right time and getting better each start. He's got such a live, loose arm with a smooth delivery and his breaking ball is greatly improving into a plus pitch. Very excited about his future.

Being no hit through six, by a pitcher who has absolutely struggled over the past 2 months, with the season on the line.

Sweet.

2 of 3 in this series would be a net loss. Bats are ice cold. :34853_doh:

All my faith and hopes always end up crushed with the M's. Cano drives one to the wall with bases chucked. 10ft short, story of the season. FRICK!!! What a crummy week in Seattle sports. Other than collage football.

I think the Seahawks caught the flu bug from the Mariners. Is Bevell part of the M's offense?
