I'm pretty sure it was Chris Iannetta.
These are good players the M's are getting while the Cubs get that LH relief they needed badly.VBomb is the main piece and would be starting on the Cubs if not for Rizz at 1B.The guy is a hitter with power,I'm glad the M's got him because he is ready to play in Seattle right now and will pay off for years. This is not another Smoak I can tell you that.Blackburn is a year or two off but may be better than some already in Seattle like Cishit.Hawk-Lock":3m7q2pbr said:Interesting. Looks like we may be sellers. Anyone know anything about the guy we are getting in return?

Nice on the games,it's a lot better place now due to a lot of upgrades.Arietta pitched great last night.Hawk-Lock":30qgbtfz said:IndyHawk":30qgbtfz said:As some may know I^m near Chicago and the Cubs are my NL team but the M's are my first and favorite.I thought would add the link to a Cubs site I go to a lot so others can read what they think of the trade/comments ect. http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2016 ... vogelbach/
As of now, the Cubs are my favorite team from the NL. Last year got a chance to go to two games at Wrigley. I love the Cubs chances of winning it all, but they need to add an arm or two to the pen (Montgomery will help), and they need Arietta to get back on track.
IMO, no one will take Cano's contract. He's an M until it runs out.Hawk-Lock":fno8jili said:sutz":fno8jili said:Frankly, I'm a bit concerned about all of the "Felix is back" talk. We still need to wake the bats up, and traditionally, we haven't done much of that as a team behind him. Just because our best pitcher is back is no reason to get complacent. We need to give him some run support for a change.
The run support over the years for Felix is pathetic. He didn't look good today at all, could just be the rust but we will see. I'm a bit worried about him in general. I think Dipoto is going to be faced with some tough decisions this offseason. If he doesn't think we can contend for a World Series within the next two years, then I think it would be smart to deal Felix and possibly even Cano.

Vogelbach, a second-round draft pick in 2011, fits the profile Dipoto has talked about since becoming general manager. At 23, he is a career .290 hitter with a career .389 on-base percentage in the minors.
This season, in Class AAA, he is hitting .318 with 16 home runs, 64 RBI and a .425 on-base percentage. He will join Class AAA Tacoma.
“He rakes,” Dipoto said. “He rakes everywhere he’s ever been. He’s an elite strike-zone controller with well above-average power. He has absolutely tormented right-hand pitching, especially this year.”
Yeah but -5 for signing Cishit and putting him the closer role where he's blown 5 saves. I'm reserving judgement so far. Seems to be able to identify quality hitting but pitching (Miley anyone?), remains to be seen.Chapow":10krbs3c said:Hawk-Lock":10krbs3c said:Crizilla":10krbs3c said:6 walk off homers this year.. 2 for Lind, 2 for Martin, 1 for Lee....other one was...?

All 4 guys picked up by Dipoto in the off season. That looks like +6 wins to me. Very nice work by Mr. Dipoto.

Completely agree. He'll get at least 5 years and ought to cuz it's baseball. We'll see.Hawk-Lock":39fpqn8x said:So far Dipoto has been hit and miss on his first year. But we can't judge him off one offseason. Jury is still out on Dipoto. I don't want to give him a pass if we finish with a better record than last year, simply because we vastly under-achieved in 2015.
