I don't know if this has been brought up but I noticed the TE's getting involved a lot last week. If you look at our success late last season, TE play was huge.

Bevell is definitely getting our TE's and RB's involved on quick releases and blitz baits. Good to see. It was suspiciously absent Week 1, and a lot of early last year.

It was a welcomed sight. We also threw a lot of slants. I've been wondering where the short passing game has been

We will continue to see a ton of TE involvement for as long as Okung is out unless Bailey/Bowie can handle one-on-ones at LT better than McQuistan. No coincidence that increased TE usage happened the week Okung went out.

I would like to point out from a catching tight end perspective the new guy did pretty good. caught everything thrown his way. I will watch the tapes on blocking next time I think about it.

I expect our TEs to be busier protecting RW vs Texans, and that neither team will score more than 24.

We've always used the TE to help out in the pass blocking area. I think the OP was referring to usage of the TE in pass RECEIVING. Of which they did very well this week.

I am actually watching the game at this moment and have been very impressed with Luke Willson, his routes, his catching and his YAC. He could be a good one as he gets more and more experience. Even Davis gets a few decent catches in.

You can help in pass pro and still be a receiving target. Chip blocks, etc. Basically what TEs are designed to do. This element makes them more valuable than an extra WR if the LT can't handle one-on-one pressure.
