I am sure deep down a lot of guys would have felt the same. He wanted to put on a great performance and talked all off-season about how he is the greatest and so on. But he also needs to realize that he has gotten his money that he so desperately wanted, and if anything... the front office is ecstatic about the RESULT. He opened things up for Hartline and others. By doing so, he is setting other teams up to have to cover those guys and it will have to pull doubles off of him, and he will get his numbers. Being a baby about it does nothing.
His team won, and his five targets helped keep the defense honest, and the Dolphins were extremely intelligent in how they used him today. This is exactly what they wanted Brandon Marshall to do for them (and instead he cried too). Jeff Ireland took him off the field, and I guarantee Jeff was pointing out that Mike was a big reason they won, and he needs to stop looking at the stats and start looking at results. The combo of him and Tannehill could be pretty lethal. It will take time though.
Good thing he isn't here. I wanted to sign him... but can't imagine how he'd have reacted after today when Doug Baldwin got targeted and Kearse got the TD. He'd probably be angry about that. Russell is a smart QB and will hit the guy that's open. As long as Wallace is doubled and tripled then somebody else is going to be singled or if they are doubling him up and zoning, then there is going to be pockets and seams. A smart QB will find him when he gets his chances, but not forcing the ball to him because he gets paid more or is going to pout isn't the way to go.
I can remember Terrell Owens pulling this stuff, but it was at least usually in a loss, where he felt that if he had the ball they'd have had a better chance of winning (and he was probably right). But to win and do this? Silly.
