Last season saw an 11-5 record . Quite good & made the playoffs too. The problem I see is this. PF 405...Pa 398 .
Quite good or quite lucky ? Thoughts ?

Definitely some luck involved. That should be a 9-7 or 8-8 record. Despite the luck in wins, I thought they were also a bit unlucky in some of the losses.

Does anybody feel that they can put together another 11-5 with just a 7 point cushion ?

Pretty sure Green Bay was 13-3 and actually outscored.

They could get quite a few wins like last season with the offense playing like it was. People like to grind on about the offense, slow starts, and coaching but it was pretty good and everything had improved over the last two years. Yes, even the slow starts improved drastically over the last two years.

The problem is giving up around 25 PPG. That's just going to be a disaster in the playoffs unless you luck out like the 2011 Giants.

Thought the team had real stuff last season but at the end of the year the depth couldn’t hang in there as the injuries truly 86’d the playoffs for the team. Simply the depth couldn’t get it done. They ran out of gas.

I had few genuine expectations the team could beat GB in that playoff game although I thought they could squeak by SF and score the bye which might have made a huge difference in terms of being ready for SF again.it’d be nice to have Clowney back but I think there is some talent here that could surprise.

Don’t know that I see the team being significantly stronger but they are certainly not significantly weaker and could be lots better on the OLine if the competition works out to improve the Line. Am encouraged by the depth improvements at a few positions.

Points for and points against is a silly metric, just count the Ws. I could see the team surprising and being a lot stronger than we think at present. The stats guys may disagree but this team has leadership that understands how to pull out Ws at the end of games.

11-5 is is high goal but that my goal for them this season.

It's only "Luck" when the Seahawks win, but skill when the opponents win?

Of course it isn’t fun when our team is “lucky”. RW is a magician.

The totals and differential could be misleading. But that points allowed number and average allowed points per game is not misleading at all. It means that they couldn't keep opposing teams from scoring a lot last year.

And to break that number down, they only had two games where they gave up less than 20 points. Except for the 2011 Giants, I can't think of any team in recent history that has gotten by very successfully giving up that many points, nearly every game.

They gave up over 25 points in 10 of 16 games. A team like that isn't going to be very successful in the playoffs unless they are a total fluke.

That points allowed number is very indicative of how the defense played. Plus it represents real numbers.

We should do about the same. If we add (Clowney, Warford) some guys, I think we'll be a stronger team.

The fascination with HOW the team wins continues. One point or 20 points, it doesn't matter. They are as good as ANY team in the league in close games, that's all that matters. Russ refuses to let the team win, over and over again. Along with the rest of the team believing they are going to pull out every game. It's a mindset that very few teams have. Hell yes they can win 11 games. Plenty of those games, they had a good size lead and pulled up on the gas a little. They dominated a lot more games than that point differential shows. Just my opinion, but I couldn't care less how the team WINS. Winning ugly has made them the best team in the league not from NE for the last decade.

In the eye of the beholder I guess. I can't recall any game last year that we actually dominated.
" They are as good as ANY team in the league in close games, that's all that matters." It mattered mostly if we were on offense. When our defense took the field it was at best a tossup.
It wasn't just the point differential. Check out the yardage we gave up.
I think last year really high lights the immense value of Russel Wilson and just what a great player he is. Under any circumstances anytime you can pull 11 wins out of a total 6-7 point advantage you've done magic.

There were plenty of games they had in hand that they let the other team come back. One of the annoying things about Pete is that he gets a lead and kind of tries to coast. Every time they won a close game, people came out of the woodwork saying stuff like "but they almost lost" Well, they DIDN'T. We can all agree to disagree on plenty of things, but complaining after a WIN is a complete waste of energy.

Look, it matters to those of us that are getting on in years and our hearts are getting toyed with by the Seahawks. I would very much like to live out my remaining years with my Seahawks winning by at least ten and not having to worry about a coronary because Russell Wilson is a magician and has to cover for our porous defense. No more heart palpitations with two minute drives please.

Yeah, I'm surprised my heart can make it thru the season. Close game after close game. I always like to say "we're having fun right?" While my wife looks over at me like I need to be put in a straight jacket. Aaaaah, football.
